Been running into a problem for a couple of weeks now and was wondering if anyone else was having the same problem or knows of a fix.

The problem mostly seems to occur with profiles I've submitted, but it's not just limited to that, it's occured with a few regular updates as well.

After I've created/edited a profile and submitted it and the update has been released, if there's a cover image, the cover image doesn't update.

When previewing the changes, half the time, it even says there's an error reading the new images and instead of the cover image, it's just a big red box with a white exclamation point in it.

When I accept the changes, I go into the profile and discover that the new image hasn't been downloaded.

The only way I've found to fix this so far, is to remove the profile from my local (delete it from my collection), re-download it (at which point I only get a blank line in my local representing where the profile should be) run a full system repair, find the blank line of where the profile should be and then select 'online' and then 'refresh profile and images' at which point the full proper profile, with the correct covers refreshes into my local (if I try to refresh the profile and the image before I run a full system repair, I get no results).

Anyone have any ideas as to what the hell is going on? It's getting quite annoying. If I have custom tags attached, I have to re-enter them after going through all this, or write down and re-enter a watched date if I've already watched it etc. etc. It'd be nice to get the program working properly again.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

So I'm the only one that this is happening to?

Sucks. It's a hella annoying problem. Having to remove profiles, re-add them, run a database repair and refresh recently updated profiles everytime new updates are released...

No one's got any info? Database repair doesn't work. Uninstalling the program and re-installing it has no effect...

No idea, sorry.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Ugh!  No... Fortunately I haven't had this issue.

I assume you put a support ticket in?

If you have to do this... could you enter a dummy profile and copy and past your personal data to it and copy it back over after you re-do it?

I had problems a few times recently where the "Lock all changes (correct wording?)" box in the lower left corner of the Edit Profile screen got checked and so the changes wouldn't update. I only noticed because there were some back cover scans that wouldn't update after I ok'd them.  Is this anything close to what's happening?  If not, sorry I couldn't help.
My one wish for the DVD Profiler online database: Ban or remove the disc-level profiles of TV season sets. It completely screws up/inflates the CLT.
FACT: Imdb is WRONG 70% of the time! Misspelled cast, incomplete cast, wrong cast/crew roles. So for those who want DVD Profiler to be "as perfect as Imdb", good luck with that.
Stop adding UNIT crew! They're invalid credits. Stop it!

Had a similar problem where I accepted a cover scan update (front & back) with NOTHING accepted on the profile.  Didn't get any error messages or anything but I noticed that the scans had not actually updated (title was TED, and before accepting new scans, the front & back were identical; usual scenario on a relatively new release).
The solution I used to get the scans to update, was to note the UPC then delete the two jog files of that name from the hard drive. Only then would the program recognize that I did need the updated scans.
I think, for me at least, this only happens where you've accepted the images but didn't accept any other fields on the profile.

I hate that lock all changes check box... I am constantly hitting it by accident. I would so like to see Ken move it... maybe move it to the top of the screen instead of the bottom. I know I wouldn't hit it by accident then.

Uhm

I didn't know you could open support tickets for that (thought it was a forums thing). 'Suppose I could always give that a shot.

I figured out in the past few days with all the updates I've been putting through that it only happens if part of a contribution is declined.

So if there's an image update, and NO updates to the profile, the system puts a little red x on the profile contributions updates (because they're nothing to update) and then it skips the image update as well (it actually reads it as being skipped when the updates are being processed). If I reject part of a profile update (if there's only a BY being added and I don't accept the update) it happens as well.

If I accept the entire update on both the profile side and the image side, then the image seems to update.

Weird.

No, unfortunately this isn't the issue.

Thanks for the suggestion though.

Yeah, this is kind of what I described above. If I accept the update to the ENTIRE profile (images and profile) then all goes through fine. If there's no updates to the profile or if I decline part of an update for the profile, the image doesn't get updated.

Sorry for the computer illiteracy, but how do I delete jog files from the hard drive?

This is happening with me lately.  About 3/4 of the images are not downloading for me.  Usually with an update, but just today I added "Killing Me Softly" blu-ray to my wish list--the profile downloaded but the image said "skipped."  I'd love to know why this is happening as it is a giant pain in the neck...
