It says an access error has occurred at address 00000000. If this error persists .... and then it says it sent an error report. I have tried finding a fix in the knowledge database and thought I found it in one old post about a font file being corrupted. I downloaded the replaced the font file but it still continues popping up the error screen.

I have also tried deleting the whole Profiler program and re-installing it and restoring the files with the same results.

Have you tried a system repair of the database?

Options -> Utilities -> Repair Profile Database

If this problem was sudden, you might consider not only uninstalling, but running a Windows System Restore before reinstalling the program.
If at first you don't succeed, skydiving isn't for you.

I had the same issue myself. After installing a new hard drive recently, fresh install of Windows (Vista), DVDPrrofiler, I get this issue EVERY TIME I create/edit a a profile.... and it bugs the hell out of me!
Running repair from the the Start---> Programmes----> DVD Profiler menu makes no difference!
imho, running a Windows System Restore----> re-install of DVDProfiler may not achieve anything and really, there should be an easier solution than to go the 'overkill' route.

How did you restore your database to the new installation?
If you simply copied your existing database files to the new installation this may happen because Vista and Win7 are quite restrictive with access rights.

Anyhow both of you may try the following:
- Create a complete backup of your database files
- Create a new and empty database
- Restore your backup to the "new" database
- Check if the error persists
- If (and only "IF") the database restored fine: Delete the "old" database
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

I just backed everything up and deleted everything, and re-installed DVD Profiler. With a nothing in the database i put 1 title in the new database. when I went back and added another studio (there was only one other selection available) it came back with the error,

"Access Violation at address 008B3447 in module 'DVD Pro.exe'. Read of address 000001CC"

All else has failed to correct it too.

I don't know if that is part of I-Tunes or not but we installed a whole bunch of stuff when we got the I-pod as a gift.

Open the Windows Control Panel -> Software and check for an entry named E-Music if it's there uninstall it. DVDProfiler should work then.

Is there someway to just disable the error reporting feature? Obviously no one is going to respond to all the messages that has been sent, even though it says someone will reply as soon as possible. Their email should be getting pretty full by now.

Check if the error persists after installing the current Beta (Release Candidate) from the Download section.

Yes it does. But the error screen now only has 'Cancel' option available to select. All the others option are not available to select. So I just hit cancel and continue on. I was selecting send email and screenshot to send but that has been removed as an option.

The report option remains, the change is that a brief note is now required to submit.

I've tried all the suggestions, but the problem persists. BUT I found a way around the error coming up when I edited or added a studio to the profile. I don't know why this works, still scratching my head over this one.

If anyone is interested or ever reads this reply, here's the fix to stop the error. Don't click "OK' with your mouse.

Use the ENTER key on your keyboard. You will also better off to select the correct studio by typing it in or use the arrow keys on the keyboard to select the correct studio instead of clicking on it with your mouse.

That has cured my problem so far, any thoughts as to why this works would be appreciated...

Thanks for the workaround.

What mouse are you using?
Is the driver up-to-date?

I still get errors when working with studios.  I use a standard USB mouse on Win 7.
