| Posted: | | | | There are two different George O'Hanlon's. They are father and son but after Sr. passed away George O'Hanlon, Jr. is mostly credited as George O'Hanlon.
After checking CLT I think it's quite a mess right now and at this moment it's hard to tell if George O'Hanlon, Jr. should be credited as George O'Hanlon as well.
At This moment there are 96 titles (231 profiles) for George O'Hanlon but maybe half of them are credits for the 1953 George O'Hanlon
Maybe to clean up the mess a bit I suggest to credit both as George O'Hanlon with the addition of the birth years.
George O'Hanlon (1953) http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0641191/ http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/George_O'Hanlon,_Jr.
George O'Hanlon (1912-1989) http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0641197/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_O'Hanlon
So what's the best way to credit the both of them. Personally I think the best way is to credit them with birth years. |

| Posted: | | | | The matter cannot be solved by a poll - the only way to settle this is to determine what the common name for each is. If they turn out to have different common names, then we don't need birth years, but if the common name for both of them indeed is "George O'Hanlon", then we can add the birth years. So that's what needs to be done: to determine the common name for each of them. |

| Posted: | | | | The poll was just to figure out what the opinion was to solve this kind of "problems"
The only other movie I have that I can confirm is Battleship
Battleship -> George O'Hanlon (Tourist Guide)
The 1912 George O'Hanlon is pretty obvious so let's concentrate on the 1953 George O'Hanlon
George O'Hanlon, Jr. (3) -The Karate Kid II -Magnum P.I.: Season 4 - George O'Hanlon, Jr. -Magnum P.I.: Season 7 - George O'Hanlon, Jr.

| Posted: | | | | Ok not much confirmations so it looks like George O'Hanlon, Jr. is the way to credit him and to make the difference between him and his father. |

| Posted: | | | | As I see both underneath BY's are approved and accepted:
George O'Hanlon (1953) http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0641191/ http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/George_O'Hanlon,_Jr.
George O'Hanlon (1912-1989) http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0641197/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_O'Hanlon
So it seems for father and son the common name is George O'Hanlon, seperated with above two BY's that are accepted, I just contributed and needed no cross to submit it on the bottom. | | | * 3D TV Panasonic TX-P65VT30J + Blu-ray Player Panasonic DMP-BDT500 My Filmcollection online: www.filmkino.ch * |

| Posted: | | | | The last time I checked the CLT the Common name for George O'Hanlon (1953) is George O'Hanlon. If you count distinct titles for George O'Hanlon (1953)'s filmography. So the BY's should be used. |

| Posted: | | | | The answer to this is not a poll, it is by the common name.
I did some CLT analysis based on the CLT today and I see that the common name for George O'Hanlon (1953) is definitely questionable, so I opened a common name thread. |

| Posted: | | | | Do we 86 the birth years now that Jr. has been confirmed to be the common name for 1953 George in another thread? Don't really need em anymore it seems, unless Jr. stops using Jr. and catches back up to dad. |

Well if and when it is confirmed as the common name we would treat them as invalid BY's and people should remove them. The common name has not been confirmed by the thread at this point Currently the common name thread is not conclusive. The probability is that the common name is now Jr. But the thread needs a few more confirmations to be conclusive. Currently it is 5 to 8 with three unconfirmed titles. If it ends up being 8 to 8 then I will have to count the profiles based on the confirmations. Basically one more confirmed title to "Jr." would make it conclusive. |

Good point, but I just looked on youtube and got one of the 3 remaining titles (also a Jr), so now it is conclusive with Jr. having a 4 title lead and only 2 unconfirmed. I've been accepting dad's BY all week it seems, then this happens. |
