| Posted: | | | | Since it appears from many posts here that the database itself is the weak link in dvdProfiler (most 'fix' responses is first to 'run Repair Profile Database') i decided to start using the 'Check database files before backup' thinking that it would run the Repair Profile Database. But it did not seem to do that (or anything else i could tell. It looks to have just done a backup. Is this feature supposed to do the 'repair profile database' or what? Thanks DSig |

| Posted: | | | | From my observation it runs through the database to check if it needs a repair before it does the backup (I don't know if it will automatically carry out the repair if it finds it needs to or whether it will just tell you to run one).
It certainly (for me) goes through a similar process to a repair (looking at all the blob data etc) and this is very obvious as it sits there telling me it's doing it and takes about 5-10 minutes before it even starts the actual backup. | | | It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong |

What we've seen so far is leftover from 3.7 in most cases. 3.8 palso periodically flushes the tables to disk to prevent problems if the program is unexpectedly terminated. | | | Invelos Software, Inc.
