| Posted: | | | | To do a selective backup it would be great if the 'last edit' column could be added to the display for selecting profiles.
Thanks DSig |

Thanks DSig Actually .. i mistyped/spoke last night. It is the RESTORE that has the ability to selectively restore specific profiles. So it I guess it would be there that adding the 'last edit' column would be added. Although a backup would be much faster if it could backup ONLY those profiles (and all associated data) that had changed. Thanks Dsig |

| Posted: | | | | You can add the last edited column to your collection list (right click on list header -> View Columns -> Last Editied).
Then you can sort descending.
Then you can flag all above a certain line (e.g. date of the last backup)
Then you can backup only flagged profiles. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

| Posted: | | | | Actually, the way you would do this is to flag the profiles before the backup. You can add the "Last Edited" column to the Collection view. After sorting on that field, you can flag the ones you want. Remember "Last Edited" is a date, not a flag. How would a program know what you considered to be "Last"? That would always be exactly one profile unless you told it which ones. The Backup process can select based on flags. Two other ideas: (1) Use Database Query to select and flag a set of profiles to be backup up. (2) Use BulkEdit "Flag Between" to speed up the process of flagging a date range of profiles. (Actually DJ's idea is better- flag above or below). Good luck. Oh man! That DJ Doena - he types faster, he thinks faster, he works faster -he is "Profiler Man" (heh heh ). Reminds me - when is Ken going to start giving / selling T-Shirts? | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! | Posted: | | | | It is a full backup of everything about a profile, including the contents of all the DVDP folders in the DVD Profiler directory in My Documents. Folders that you create yourself are not backed up, unless they are included in a DVDP folder such as CreditPhotos. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. | Posted: | | | | That is great. Since i don't create any folders myself, all folders are created with dvdProfiler, then it looks like everything will be covered in a 'selective backup.
Thanks for that Dsig |

Thanks for that Dsig Oops I missed the word selective. You might want to double check if the complete folders are backed up when you do a selective backup. Since the folder contents are usually saved by profile ID, you might only get the ones you selected. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here.
