| Posted: | | | | Sorry if this is a repost -- I didn't see reference to it.
Since upgrading, when I click on a cast member, the resulting popup screen no longer lists other movies in my collection for which they are a cast member.
Has this been reported?
Thanks! |

| Posted: | | | | It also appears as though cast pictures aren't shared between databases... Maybe that's always been the case and I've never noticed but I have actors in one database (with pictures) that don't have pictures in a different one of my databases. |

| Posted: | | | | For your first post: A long-asked-for change was made in which you can choose which categories to view (rather than always all of them at once.) Let's check that first. Click on any cast member to bring up that popup box and look at the bottom. You'll see a Plus sign, Sort Title.... click on the next one, "Show" and make sure there are check boxes next to the different category tabs. If not, you know what to do ------------------------------------------- For the second: You are correct. Cast member photos are database specific. However, you CAN copy them from one database into another. First, do a full backup of your database that you want to move the images into (File -> Backup Database...) Next, open the other database that has all of the pictures, go to Backup Database and select Custom Backup. Uncheck every box except for "Include cast/crew databases with photos." Remember to use a different file name and do this backup. This will backup only the cast names and photos. Now, go back into the database that you want to add the pictures to, go to "File -> Restore Database..." and use the one you just created containing only the photos to restore. Voila! | | | If at first you don't succeed, skydiving isn't for you.

Unfortunately when I am in that popup, none of the buttons at the bottom do anything other than the "close" button. It's like there's no action tied to them. Last night when I was playing with this, it kept popping up an alert of a malfunction and asked if I wanted to send it to Invelos. Today it's not doing that -- it just does nothing when I click any of those buttons. ------------------------------------------- Quoting Blair: Quote: . This is done by going to "Tools -> Options -> Utilities -> Repair Profile Database." Once complete, if you are still having the same problem with the buttons, I would suggest a full reinstall: Backup your database files and set them aside. Uninstall the program and you might even want to restart your computer which could possibly remove some files left over that could be the cause. Then, reinstall DVD Profiler and restore your database(s). Note that if you are going to reinstall, DVD Profiler has just entered a second beta phase to update from 3.8.0 to 3.8.1. This will likely only take a few days until an official 3.8.1 version is released. You may want to wait until then to reinstall. | | | If at first you don't succeed, skydiving isn't for you.

It's nothing major at this point so I may wait until the 3.8.1 version drops to reinstall if it comes to that. Cheers! |

| Posted: | | | | There's a new menu at the bottom of the credit info window that lets you filter which collection types to show. Click the 'Show' button and check whether the collection types are enabled as you wish. |

| Posted: | | | | FWIW, I just upgraded to the new build (3.8.1, 1535) and it's still not working. Looks like I'll need to do a full reinstall whenever it bugs me enough. |

To be clear -- is there a way to start DVD Profiler in safe mode? Or do you mean Windows, itself? | | | Last edited: by maddness |

| Posted: | | | | There's a diagnostic startup for DVD Profiler (hold CTRL as the program starts). You can try that but the only likely thing to try on that menu is to disable plugins.
My earlier suggestion was referencing Windows startup in safe mode. | | | Invelos Software, Inc. Representative |

| Posted: | | | | Unfortunately uninstalling and reinstalling didn't solve the problem although I didn't reboot in between.
I'll try some more troubleshooting later when I have time. |

I'll try some more troubleshooting later when I have time. I did another uninstall and told it to remove everything (templates, databases, etc). I rebooted, reinstalled, restored a dababase (15 minutes) and it still doesn't work. -J |
