I have the following Disks

5050582888324 - The Mummy (1999) - Augmented Reality Edition [Blu-ray][Region Free]
http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Mummy-Augmented-Reality-Edition/dp/B007KITTN4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1339625240&sr=8-1

5051892074209 - Happy Feet Two - Triple Play (Blu-ray + DVD + Digital Copy)[Region Free]
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Happy-Feet-Two-Blu-ray-Digital/dp/B0053YI14K/ref=sr_1_1?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1339625332&sr=1-1

8717418358273 - The Muppets 2012 DVD Sainsbury's special, edition which contains a bonus disc with 3hours of Muppet Show episodes from series 3
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Muppets-DVD-2012-UK-Release-/221044260215

What is the easiest way of getting these added to the database ? I have never done a full contibution of a DVD before, what would need to be done. They are all variations (I think) on existing disks, with extra disks or different covers so most of the information should exist in the database. These disks are widely available

Thanks

The easiest way to get them into the database. Phew, that's a hard question.

But it would probably be to clone the data from an already existing profile.
For doing this:
1) Open the "Add DVD"-dialogue and use the "By Title" option
2) Search the database for matching titles
3) Download them to your local database
4) In DVDProfiler go to menu "DVD -> Change UPC/EAN..." and make the required changes for EAN AND locality
5) Open the profile editor and make all other specific changes (Coverart, DiscIDs, Overview, Tech-Specs, etc.)
6) When finished contribute the profile to the maindatabase, in the contribution notes state from which profile you cloned the data.

Sounds complicated, but shouldn't take much more than 10 minutes, provided you know how to work with your scanner ( )

The advanced method would be to actually check the credits against what you found in the copied profile. This takes significantly longer.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

What's the worst that could happen?  Based on reports from other users, you may experience the following:

1. You may get nasty remarks from people leaving comments with their votes.
2. You may receive nasty PMs from people.
3. You may be called out in public on the forums so even more people can ridicule you for you mistakes.

Those are just a few of the things that can happen to you.  They've happened to others before you.

Something to keep in mind the next time you think "what's the worst that could happen".

But those are UK release EANs and we're all cute and cuddly and would never do such a thing... maybe

This one can't happen anymore since Ken add it to the list of forum infractions (and that seems like it was effective this time). I'm sure you have notice that who was "famous" for this haven't post since the may 13th.

That's easy:
Your contribution could make the universe collapse.
But this is very unlikely, and even if it would happen, we wouldn't be there anymore to blame you.

Seriously:
For an initial contribution the worst that could happen is that it gets declined.
If this is the case this is usually because your contribution notes were considered insufficient. If this should happen, please come up again and we'll try to give help.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

see: Cloning
Read and follow(!) the Contribution Rules and state in your Contribution Notes which profile you cloned.
Also: the covers must reflect the release, so if you can't add a scan of your actual release don't submit the cloned one.

But even is that case: a good profile without covers is better than none at all!
