Open the Add by UPC dialog

Uncheck "Download from Invelos"

Add a UPC base profile

Now the DfI checkbox is enabled again.

It may be as intended but I don't like it. If I uncheck something I do it for a reason. If I want it checked again I can do it myself.

PS: see my clarification below.

I am just the opposite... I like it defaulting back to being checked.

I would prefer it be checked by default.

I can see value in it remaining in the state the user last left it for the current session (until the program is closed).
Bad movie?  You're soaking in it!

Just for clarification: I'm talking about the same workflow. The Add by UPC window is still open.

I'm not talking about when I open the window the next time I add DVDs. Then it may be checked again, I have no problem with that.

I understood what you meant Karsten... I can only go by my own experience... but when I have a whole list of titles to add... I seldomly have more then 1 title that isn't already in the online database... so going by my experience over the years... I like the way it defaults back to the box being checked.

But when it's not in he database you don't need to uncheck the checkbox. You simply press "Add" and it asks you for the title.

The checkbox is meant for when you don't want the information that's in the online database.

My workflow is this:

I add a DVD by UPC, but don't download the profile.
Then I lock all the fields I don't want to have downloaded.
Then I update the profile via the Online menu.

This way I don't have to clear fields like media companies and get unwanted name variants and birth years from the online DB.

Edited... after rereading it sounded different then what I intended.

I will just say I have no problem with the way it is... but if it will help people I have no problem with a change either.
