| Posted: | | | | I have just added a profile upc 012569767515 which is actually a single disc but double sided. The profile shows it as having 2 discs. I guess i have 2 questions
1) should this be changed to 1 disc. Is it possible that there is a version with the same upc that has 2 discs?
2) When creating a profile, should i create something like this as a 2 disc or 1 disc using the side a/b
Thanks Dsig |

| Posted: | | | | There are many titles that have been released as both a double-sided disc as well as two single-sided discs. In those cases it's the first release that gets profiled. | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 |

| Posted: | | | | You should show it as a box set with no disc IDs and then separate children for the sides. We need to profile them separate since they have different movies. |

| Posted: | | | | Double-sided discs are basically 2 discs glued together.
There are many cases (addicted2dvd and I just had such a case recently) where it's sold as double-sided and in another release wave as two discs.
Usually the double-sided release is the older one and therefore the relevant one for contribution. But that's a rule of thumb, not a dogma.
1) Unless you can prove the double-sided disc was an earlier release than the two disc release, I would leave the online database alone and only change it locally (if that's important information for you)
2) When you create profile info that hasn't got disc information and you actually have a double-sided disc, then that's how you profile it. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

| Posted: | | | | I just checked and Ace is correct:
012569767515 returns as Major League 2 & Majore Leage: back to the Minors.
Which means the parent profile gets no disc information at all.
You add both discs, or both sides of the disc individually in two different profiles, ID'd by their DiscID and add them to the parent profile in the Box Set Contents tab. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

| Posted: | | | | In this case, no. Since the two sides have separate movies, they should always be listed separately. If it were a movie two long to fit on one disc/side or a movie and special features, so it all went on one profile, then it would be first come/first serve for the disc info. |
