| Posted: | | | | Hello,
either I am terribly wrong here or we got a huge problem. Nearly every update wants to remove the valid birthyears along with the Color update.
Of course I do not accept them, but why is this happening ?
any comment appreciated.

| Posted: | | | | I haven't seen this in that many updates. I would guess that what is happening is that you have a birth year in your local database that has propagated from a profile that you have previously downloaded. The profile you are downloading never had the birth year added since that has to be done with a contribution. Nevertheless, even if you accept the change it will not remove an already added birth year from your local database. It can replace it with a different birth year, but not remove it. | Posted: | | | | I think that there should be an option to only apply birth years to the profile they were added to, not the whole database. |

I'll take ya one farther and say they should be optional. On a person to person basis, many users won't need most of the BY's, it's just fact. Then we wouldn't need to have the BY's tagged to people like Sean Penn just cuz another Sean Penn played a small role in one low budget slasher most will never even hear of, much less see! I own the slasher in question and don't want the BY! I've tried hard repeatedly to find any info on the other Penn with no luck. Something about the BYs bugs me, they mess with the flow of the cast lists when present. Plus I don't care about another (insert name Y) who directed some silent film I will never watch, much less own. They should be optional for when needed, then we can try and find the BY for all, and most won't use them! |
