| Posted: | | | | To reduce the voting clutter of contributions for 3.8, we've implemented an automatic approval for all contributions which:
- Are adding an entry to the Color field where it is currently blank - Make no other changes to the profile, and do not submit an image
These contributions will be automatically approved immediately upon receipt and will not show up in the contribution vote queue. This applies to all contributions posted after the time of this message.
We are processing the color-only contributions received prior to this change in an expedited manner.
Note: This is a temporary change and will be disabled after the bulk of data has been updated. | | | Invelos Software, Inc. Representative | | | Last edited: by Ken Cole |

| Posted: | | | | One note on the auto-accept: It will not function during the contribution release processing window. During that time, all contributions will go into the normal queue.
Release processing occurs nightly at 12:00 AM US Central time. Normally it lasts about 10 minutes but due to the larger volume of contributions to process I expect that to increase to perhaps 20 minutes. | | | Invelos Software, Inc. Representative |

| Posted: | | | | Oh my, just did an Updated Profile thing and I got 707 profiles that are updated. I bet almost all of them is the Color update.
I wonder how long this is going to take me to go through all of them. |

We are processing the color-only contributions received prior to this change in an expedited manner. I'm seeing a lot of contributions up for voting which were submitted after your post - e.g. The Avengers: The Definitive Dossier: File Three 1965 (posted Jun 7, 2012 ) - these just have a colour setting and are appearing for voting. shouldn't these have been automatically accepted?? | | | Paul |

| Posted: | | | | I understand why this was done, but I am seeing errors slip through due to the fact that there is no voter quality control, so people need to be careful here. As an example, someone changed the 'color' tab, on a film, to 'mixed' with the notes "each episode contains mixed b&w and color." Since the film didn't have any episodes, the change was clearly wrong. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. It had totally slipped my mind that we could do that, and it has the bonus of highlighting any that I got wrong. | | | Adelaide Movie Buffs (info on special screenings, contests, bargains, etc. relevant to Adelaideans... and contests/bargains for other Aussies too!) |

| Posted: | | | | I think any "color" only contributions should have been deleted. Why, if anybody wants set this option they can do it themselves. When I see that a profile has an update I would like think that is something important or a correction. Whether a film is black-white or color is not my concern when selecting a movie or TV episode to purchase or watch.
Since this color thing came up and contributing started with 3.8 my profiles with the date flag set has increased to over 6,000. It was about 4,000. That show you what I care about updates. The problem is with updates is that just maybe you have already updated your profile to what has been contributed.
About over 50% of the time I notice the update flag is set the update has errors or omissions and isn't as complete as the one I have. | | | We don't need stinkin' IMDB's errors, we make our own. About over 50% of the time I notice the update flag is set the update has errors or omissions and isn't as omplete as the one I have. On a related note I've added a feature request that would allow users to ignore specific fields/section before doing a comparison. So in the case of the new color field one could set to ignore the color section for updates and when one does a search for updated profiles all those that just have a color field change/update would be ignored. |

If you have already set Colors locally just select "Skip unchanged". Many thanks for that; I've set all mine locally (I had a B&W Flag already so it was easy) and this is most useful!
