| Posted: | | | | I have a box set that isn't in invelos database. Title is '50 Movie Pack Western Classics'. There are 12 discs, using both sides and multiple movies on each side.
Since dvdProfiler isn't designed to handle something like this, do we just add as much information in the Overview as we can? How much space will the overview hold?
Thanks for your ideas DSig |

| Posted: | | | | Hi... I am not sure if there is a limit... I never hit a limit in any of my titles... and some has some long lists if episodes and such.
If this is something you plan on adding to the main online database (to share with others), then you must only use the overview from the back of the case. You can't add any additional info per the rules set by Invelos. The only exception to this is basic episode (and such) lists. | | | Pete |

One word: Boxset Add one profile with the UPC as Boxset-Parent and the Discs as Child-profiles with the movies treated like Episodes for a TV-Series. I would use all 24 Disc-IDs, but I'm not sure if this is what most users want, at least for TV-Series there wasn't a clear consensus to make the most of it.strike that, for movies the rules clearly state to enter both sides. So either: UPC |-DiscID of Disc 01, Side A, Movie 1 & 2 |-DiscID of Disc 01, Side B, Movie 3 & 4 |-DiscID of Disc 02, Side A, Movie 5 & 6 |-DiscID of Disc 02, Side B, Movie 7 & 8 |etc... or UPC|-DiscID of Disc 01, Side A, Movie 1, 2, 3 & 4|-DiscID of Disc 02, Side A, Movie 5, 6, 7 & 8|etc...A whole nuther problem would be the title. "50 Movie Pack Western Classics" for the Boxset, no question. But the Child-profiles ... Either just "Movie 1 / Movie 2" and disregard the whole "50 Movie Pack"-stuff, or "50 Movie Pack Western Classics: Movie 1 / Movie 2" ... does that even fit? On the other hand don't worry about sorting locally in your DVD Profiler, just use e.g. "50 Movie Pack Western 00", "50 Movie Pack Western 01", "50 Movie Pack Western 02" etc for sorting. cya, Mithi | | | Mithi's little XSLT tinkering - the power of XML --- DVD-Profiler Mini-Wiki | | | Last edited: by Mithi |

Thanks for your ideas DSig Even though it is not possible to create one profile per movie, one can still introduce cast and crew data in their proper place by treating movies like "episodes". For an example of this, see one of the disc profile in the boxset of a collection similar to yours: 50 Movie Pack: Sci-Fi Classics (discID I0306450AC8BE78C3) |
