| Posted: | | | | Ok,
I have a problem with getting together this contribution.
This is all the seasons of Farscape in a box with a UPC. However within the box there is 5 other digipacks with each of the seasons in. However none of these boxes have UPC's so. Do I just use say the first disc ID out of each box to differentiate?
I am open for ideas. |

I do have one question that hopefully you can advise us on.
We have instances where there is a conflict between using the disc ID of the first disc in a single season TV season for the "child profile" just for the first disc in that season, and that same disc ID is needed to profile the entire season when that season is a child of a "Complete Series" of a TV show.
Can you provide some guidance on this please?
My initial thought is that in either case, disc-level profiles should have content only from that disc. How often does this occur? Since we don't have grandchild profiles at the moment, how do you enter them currently. So going by that... you make a profile per disc... with info only from that disc on it. If you want a profile per season... at this point it would have to be a manual (local only) profile... disc IDs are to be for the disc info. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | As usual there are several possibilities:
The easiest would be to just use the package with UPC, sadly this wouldn't allow to distinguish between the seasons.
Your suggestion would work too and is for the online database the best solution.
The optimum would be to create manual profiles for each season and adding the season's discs as children. Sadly this wouldn't be contributable anymore. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

| Posted: | | | | The US Friends box has all 10 seasons in 6 books with the faces of the friends in it. The 30 discs are directly attached to the complete box set profile. The US Buffy box has all 7 seasons in 7 books in it (no UPC). The 39 discs are directly attached to the complete box set profile. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

Great advice.
I think I will go with just directly attaching all the disks to the Complete Collection.
Thanks again all. Its been sitting on my desk since early Dec 2010 and a year and a half later its time for me to get it into profiler |

I am open for ideas. Here is a perfect example of the very same situation Download UPC 883904245254 "Stargate Atlantis: The Complete Series" Since the seasons are not in their own UPC's the parant profile should contain the disc ID's for all the discs and a child profile made for each disc. If you download that you will see how it is. |
