| Posted: | | | | I don't have this title. Did try to download it to see if I can see the locks... but it still didn't let me for some reason. But the locks had to be put in place by the people that have the profiles in their collection. A feature of the site that I never liked as it takes to little to lock the profiles... and too much to get them unlocked if something is wrong.
What are you trying to change... on which of the profiles?
The best you can do is ask here to see if people that locked the profile will unlock at least the portions that needs to be changed. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | I was just hoping to add cast and crew. I don't think this is a box set due to there is only 1 film with 2 cuts. |

I agree, IMO it's an unneeded feature. If nothing is wrong, people won't submit so no need to lock a profile down in that way. (well, they shouldn't, they will, but if it's wrong people will vote no). |

| Posted: | | | | Just a guess on my part... but sounds like those that believe it is a box set locked the profile so no one could add the info. And if that is the case I don't think you will have any luck getting people to unlock it.
That is one of the things that I don't like about the locking system. It can be misused by a group of users.
Not saying whether it is misused in this case... rules aren't very clear if different cuts is considered a different film or not. Some say yes... and some say no. That is something Invelos would have to have the final say on. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Not to stray, but I've never understood the locking of an entire profile (as far as I've seen, my local contains no profiles that are completely locked where I'm unable to submit changes so I've never really come across this). Is it caused simply if a certain number of people who own the profile lock their profiles locally? Or is it something else? Like it has to be voted on, submitted somehow?
Just curious. | | | The night is calling. And it whispers to me soflty come and play. |

| Posted: | | | | Since it's impossible to ever have correct cast/crew data (except for blank) with the current system, I think these locks are mainly a pain. |

I think Brazil should be one of the very few cases where Locks have been activated for cast and Crew. This and other more obvious Box Sets. So, the answer obviously is, Years and years ago most people agreed that the TV cut of Brazil was so fundamentally different it should warrant a Box Set setup. Looking back now myself, maybe the Bonus feature film would apply here better...? Maybe Bonus Fetaure film wasn't available at the time yet, I couldn't say. | | | Achim [諾亞信; Ya-Shin//Nuo], a German in Taiwan. Registered: May 29, 2000 (at InterVocative) |

I was able to download it an dI see no locks. I searched the Invelos forums and I cannot find any reference to any posts that "So, the answer obviously is, Years and years ago most people agreed that the TV cut of Brazil was so fundamentally different it should warrant a Box Set setup." Yes the different cuts are vastly different. However they are just that, different cuts and in my opinion should not be treated as a multi-film box set. The information that we profile does not look different even though the film content and structure is. In situations where I have seen this handled it is not handled as a multi-film box set. But rather with a main profile that is fully filled in and attaching OPTIONAL disc ID based profiles for the second cut. Now this DVD was released in 2000, so it was probably not created with the current rule set. The way it is currently set up seems cokmpletely wrong to me based on the current rules. Now that being said, even if the two cuts are different in how we profile them. I do not see any reasoning for the locks. The voting/review system should be the point of ensuring the profiles integrity through the years. Since DVDP and the rules change as time goes on. |

The locks are only visible online and will become obvious when trying to contribute. I have been around since the early days, so I was trying to convey the history on this; didn't mean to imply "it's always been like this, don't touch it".. Not sure why, but this set had been considered special for some reason. Looking back now it feels all a bit odd indeed and in fact I agree that Bonus Feature film should be the way to go here. | | | Achim [諾亞信; Ya-Shin//Nuo], a German in Taiwan.
