What would be acceptable sources for adding an Engllish voice cast to a DVD/BR ?

It appears that the UK Region Free BluRay of Ghost in the Shell :Innocents does not list the English voice talent. (5022366800242)

I know we don't allow IMDB scrapping, but what about other sources ? Wikis? Production companies ? etc

Or is it just a case of tough noogies ?

I am pretty certain the only acceptable source, outside of the disc itself, is the official website.  I know the official website may be used in some cases because Ken said so in regards to some Nat Geo DVDs and also for Ponyo.

However, the Nat Geo's specifically pointed on screen to the website and Ponyo had on screen credits, just without roles, so Innocence's English vocal talent may not apply in these cases.

If I was interested in such data, and couldn't get it from the official website, for my own, personal, local use I would use Anime News Network's page for the film

This would not be contributable, however.

(Or, shorter, yes, it's pretty much tough noogies)

A well-known example of a TV series which has no credits on disc is the British espionage series "Spooks" (released in the US as "MI-5"). The official website has been accepted as the source for DVDP credits info.

Behindthevoiceactors.com has many charactors with headshots of the voice actors that did the voices (English and original voices.)

A quick glance at other localities has voice cast listed. You can copy and paste that data for your local database.

If I understood Rob's problem correctly it's not that there aren't any credits. It's just that the credits for the English dubbing actors are missing.

This in fact is quite a common "problem" in localities where dubbing is more frequently used for foreign films. Usually it's handled the easy way:
If they are credited: Enter them
If they are not credited: Omit them

Locally you can do whatever you like though.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Agreed, that's what I understood as well. I merely intended to demonstrate that the official website is an accepted source for missing data (regardless of whether the entire cast and crew is missing or just a certain cast section).

This happens now and then. I've had a US movie wth the end credits lopped off on a legit dvd release, so I used websites and other profiles that didn't trim the film.

So if you enter these uncredited actors, do you also mark them as (uncredited) ?

Not if the credits are on the official website (or e.g. an included booklet). If they are from elsewhere, then yes, but then you can't enter any crew.

Any submitted cast that are not in the film credits should be listed as uncredited.  That's what "uncredited" means.

Yeah that's pretty much my thought as well. Can't see how credited somewhere else can be the same thing as a disc credit, because then we can remove ALL uncredited entries from now on since they are bound to be credited somewhere, even on "official" pages.

Per Ken's statement cast are indeed marked as uncredited...

I see no problem listing the cast (as uncredited) and crew from the official site in this case.

See where I put in bold. And you can take crew as well (when there is no credits at all) even though you can't mark them as uncredited.

Ah, many thanks for that, Pete! Didn't remember that bit in Ken's earlier statement.
My line of reasoning was: "credited" reflects data from the filmmakers themselves, "uncredited" from other sources - hence my mistake.
