| Posted: | | | | Currently there is an open contribution for Heroes: Season 1.
And I'm just not sure about it.
I'm aware that it is allowed to contribute alternate DiscIds to the Discs section, so they will be recognized by the system.
But what about changing the box set contents of an existing season set?
If my instints are right then once the contrib is approved the old DiscId will be removed from the profile and everyone who owns this set will get an update request to add yet another child profile.

| Posted: | | | | The child discs can be submitted to the database but they should not be linked as children to the parent profile.
Boxset content should not be changed from the IDs used for the original child discs. That should be managed locally. | | | Bad movie? You're soaking in it! |

| Posted: | | | | This is my contribution... and I was wondering if that part of the contribution was correct to make or not. Matter of fact... I was just getting ready to make a similar thread. The question is though... which is the original release disc ID?.... or what if both is? I bought this set when it was first released... and added by putting the disc in the drive... not downloading the child profiles with the set as you can do now. So I know the one I have is an original disc ID from first release. So what if the one in there is from a re-release? Then I would think it should be corrected. Then again what if both is from original release. I am probably over-thinking this... but can't help it. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | OK... things are getting really strange now... I just popped the disc back in my computer... now it is reading as the other disc ID.... downloading the other one.
I got 1 Disc ID when I originally did this on my old Window XP machine.. but now it is reading as the other disc ID on my new Windows 7 computer.
How is this possible?
EDIT: Whatever weird is going on... I decided to withdraw and recontribute without the box set content change. | | | Pete | | | Last edited: by Addicted2DVD |

How is this possible? Have you had any "remove the regioncodes"-software running on XP? (anyDVD or something like it) Those are known to screw up the Disc ID. cya, Mithi | | | Mithi's little XSLT tinkering - the power of XML --- DVD-Profiler Mini-Wiki | | | Last edited: by Mithi |

| Posted: | | | | Nope... the most I had on it (dvd related)... DVD Profiler, PowerDVD & Infotools.
I only buy R1 or region ALL DVDs and never rip DVDs... so never had any need for anything else. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | This is a flaw in the system, generally. The system captures and holds every disc if submitted. It only displays the last one however. The only eat currently have is through our note, in the past when I have run into new did odd I try to include both the old one and the new one this way recast users have some sort of record. Perhaps in the future the program could display all disc odd capture or throw up a dialog box that days I have already captured this disc id. | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. | Posted: | | | | Actually in this case we are talking about in the box set contents... not the disc ID field. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Well... since it is used to download the child profiles... I for one wouldn't want it downloading more then 1 profile for each disc. Like in this case... say I just bought this set... and I tell it yes download child profiles... why would I want two profiles for disc 1 to download automatically? | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Hmmm interesting thought. That shouldn't happen. I canvsee maybe there.might be two child profiles one for each of two disc odd, but you should be able to select which child you want to d/l. That's a maybe but I rather doubt it., I would need to see the code | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Outta here
