| Posted: | | | | The question is relatively simple (although the answer may not be): how do we enter this studio in DVDProfiler?
According to the official site (http://www.studiocanal.com/en/studiocanal-group/about) it is one word, without a space, but I've seen many profiles where it is entered with a space between Studio and Canal. If it should be entered as one word should the first letter of canal be capitalised? |

| Posted: | | | | Don't forget STUDIOCANAL in all caps which seems to be the current trend even when all other text is in mixed cases. Oh, and it used to be Le Studio Canal+ before that. | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 |

Even though this answers the question correctly, I think apltm's problem is that the mentioned studio has (and had) different variants in it's writing. If I understood him correctly his concern is the correct linking between this variants by standardizing the entry in DVDProfiler. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! | Posted: | | | | IIRC it also depends on the production year of the movie as the company changed the name sometimes in the 90s, so "Studiocanal" would not be correct for the releases made by "Studio Canal" or "Studio Canal+"... | | | Last edited: by MakoDeth |

Not always. 20th Century Fox, anyone? And also Warner Bros. being changed to Warner Bros. Pictures. Seen a few of these lately. Even though opening studio screen text reads Warner Bros. (presents) | | | Last edited: by ateo357 |

So if you see STUDIOCANAL that what's you enter? I've never seen it done like that, it's usually converted to mixed cases like Studiocanal or StudioCanal or Studio Canal. Sometimes the colours of STUDIO and CANAL will be different, sometimes not. Sometimes there will be a slightly larger space between O and C, sometimes not. So how exactly do you enter it EXACTLY as credited? | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 | | | Last edited: by Nexus the Sixth |

Even though this answers the question correctly, I think apltm's problem is that the mentioned studio has (and had) different variants in it's writing. If I understood him correctly his concern is the correct linking between this variants by standardizing the entry in DVDProfiler. That is exactly my problem. Other studios are in the List of Official Studio Names (http://www.dougweb.org/dvdpro/kb/index.php?title=List_of_Official_Studio_Names), but this one is not and so linking is a problem. It would be nice if we can get some sort of agreement on what should be the standard name for this studio. |

I am not aware of a rule that allows us to 'standardize' studio names. We do, as with all things, convert to mixed case, but I don't see a rule that allows us to change what is credited. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. Absolutely! This would solve both the Martian's (and I'm sure others) desire for the studio name as it is credited at the time and my (and I'm sure others) desire to have all the films from one studio under a single moniker. | | | If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world. -- Thorin Oakenshield |

| Posted: | | | | I agree. I was entering some data for a title and I have 3 variants for Happy Madison (Happy Madison Production, Happy Madison Productions and just Happy Madison). |
