I am going to building a change over the next week which will take some time to do and it may be controversial, however it will be correcting a profile to be as the rules state.
The purpose of this post is to help prevent NO votes by making sure everyone is aware of what is going on and to get feedback.
If you look at “Lost: The Complete Collection” UPC 786936802368 it contains 6 UPC bases child profiles of each season, which in turn have child profiles. And the parent is set up as a box set.
Now the issue with the way this is set up is, although the seasons in this set are in fact in their own card box folders, they are NOT in UPC based packaging.
Complete series profiles where the seasons are not in individual UPC based packaging are supposed to be profiled just like a single TV season with the disc info populated in the parent as well as the cast and crew for all episodes (with episode breaks).
Examples of these types of sets that are in my collection are:
025192010378 "Battlestar Galactica: The Complete Series" 883929074617 "Rome: The Complete Series" 883904245254 "Stagate Atlantis: The Complete Series
So I will be doing heavy modifications to the cast/crew/disc info/Box Set areas of this profile to correct it. There will be no additional disc ID based profiles needed since the complete series set does in fact use the same discs as the individual season sets. Only the parent profile will need to be touched.
Now many may not like this change, but it should be done so the profile holds constant with the rules and other sets. Those that do not like it can simply lock the sections I am modifying in the parent profile.
I have been in many threads on how "Complete Series" collections have been discussed and I know the change required is correct since the individual seasons are not in individual UPC based packaging.
I would invite any of you that do not have this to temporarily pull down UPC 786936802368 and see what I mean. |
