I've also added them in contributions and submitted.
the problem is when they are singled out in the credits, they don't fit into the listed crew roles. But if they just list a crew group as Make-up Effects they are. Even tho it may be Prosthetics, tattoos, contacts, etc.
Depends on how the people in charge of the credits list them. It is they same way with SFX and Sound Editors. When it's a general group listing everyone gets in, but if they pinpoint each crew role only a few do. |

| | Posted: | | | | The thing with these guys is, from film to film the credits will vary wildly. One may be listed as make-up effects, no question contributable, then the next prothetics which is a grey area many have kept local.
We've asked for the rules to be re-written to include them over and over with most agreeing they want them included, but only when the rules say so clearly. Others like me will vote yes as we are sick of waiting for a fix. I literally asked for one 2-3 years ago, in an already existing thread in the rules commitee section, so many want it but no progress has been seen.
FWIW, Todd Masters is among what I mentioned above. I have him locally locked in the following roles:
Make-up Effects (Many films)
Special Effects Coordinator (All In)
Special Effects Make-up Technician (The Invasion)
Prosthetics Co-designer (Mangler)
Creature Design (Necronomicon)
Puppeteer (Scary Movie 3.5)
Prosthetic Effects Artist (Seed)
Prostheic Effects Designed By (Bordello of Blood)
Special Prosthetic Make-up Design (Tales from the Crypt season 2)
Prosthetic Makle-up (Tales from the Crypt season 4)
Prosthetics Designer (Wind Chill)
That's about 10 ways of saying the same thing (all besides puppeteer and creature design!) Looks like only 'make-up effects' is a repeat credit from the 32 titles in my collection with Todd. So do we ignore all those other ones due to slight word variations? I'd say only Mangler should be not contributable due to the "co-". | | | | Last edited: by bigdaddyhorse |
