| Posted: | | | | Every time I try to update any release date to January 9, 2012 it automatically changes to September 1, 2012. This happens regardless of whether I key it in manually (short forms of the date or long form) and even if I select it off the calendar in DVDP. Anyone else able to replicate this, or am I special? | | | Adelaide Movie Buffs (info on special screenings, contests, bargains, etc. relevant to Adelaideans... and contests/bargains for other Aussies too!) |

Anyone else able to replicate this, or am I special? Seems it is a case of 09/01 vs. 01/09, right? Date format issue? Using a plugin? | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! BDPFrog. | | | Last edited: by mediadogg |

| Posted: | | | | Yeah, I pretty quickly figured out it was a format issue, but it seems odd that it happens even when selecting from the calendar.
*edit* I just took a stab at keying in the date in the reverse order, and that seems to work. When I tab to the next field the day and month switch (as before). I'm still a bit puzzled as to why this happens, but I've managed to work around the problem. | | | Adelaide Movie Buffs (info on special screenings, contests, bargains, etc. relevant to Adelaideans... and contests/bargains for other Aussies too!) | | | Last edited: by W0m6at |

| Posted: | | | | Yeah that is weird. You might explore whether there is some other program processing keystrokes that is not abiding by the windows date format settings of your configuration. Could you have some spyware? Think about the last program you installed. Just trying to spark some ideas ... | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. | Posted: | | | | Yes, I'm in the same boat, well almost. Most of my dates are US style but not all.
I've tried Mithi's trick above but no change.
For example I've bought 2 discs on 12th October, one shows as 12/10 and one as 10/12.
I've just managed to correct one of mine, by clicking on the calendar, toggling through to the date in a previous year, and then manually changing the year to the correct one, and it's now in the correct UK format. This makes me think it's a quirk within Profiler
Soooo. Anyone know how I can change the date format on 1600 entries without doing this every time, because most of mine changed to the US format sometime last year. (Or do I just live with it?)
The only other problem that I've had was the one where the Owned number was wrong (in the millions), but that's been sorted so I don't think it's linked |

| Posted: | | | | @MarkO,
BulkEdit allows you to change things like Purchase Date en masse.
Only problem is, you want an algorithmic change. This can be accomplished with the Regex Find / Replace tool (Tool# 4 of Multi-Copy). This works on the column to which the currently selected cell belongs. I coded the Regex tool, but I am not an expert on the syntax of actually using it. If somebody can post the Regex syntax for reversing day/month, it should work if you want to try that method. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. | Posted: | | | | Ok. Sorry for bringing this one up again, but can some people just try this out just to check it's not just me?
If I go into an example of a title that could be affected by the differences in formatting dates, ie. Troll Hunter, that I bought on 9th Jan 2012, go into Personalise to change the date, it brings it up as 1st Sept 2012. I can then go in and manually change the dates, by changing the month of the calendar to January, and then the date to the 9th. Ok, fine. But then, if I save it and then go back into the Personaliuse screen and bring up the calendar to check the date, it's back to 1st September.
Can somebody else check that this happens for them too?
It still seems like it could be a problem within Profiler rather than anything local to my PC. |

Maybe a combination of a fault on your computer and some sort of error in the programming. But without going really into the details of your system it is almost impossible to find the reason for this problem. So probably the best solution: - Make a complete backup (mirror-file) of your HDDs (just in case) - Reinstall your OS (format your system drive before installation. - If installing the OS from a Recovery DVD of your system manufacturer: a) Temporarily set the locality of your system to USA b) Restart the System c) Set the system to the correct locality d) Restart the system Next install DVDProfiler ( before installing any other software!) Check if the error still occurs If "No": Continue with the configuration of your system If "Yes": Reinstall the mirror file you just created and come up again. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! It does not only occur on his pc. I also have had that problem ever since I installed the latest dvdp on my latest pc (february 2011) I have now tried Mithi's little trick and it solved my problem |

If Mithi's trick is solving the problem it's not a DVDProfiler but a M$ problem which affects other programs (e.g. Thunderbird's "Lightning") too. The problem only seems to occur on pre-installed OEM versions of some manufacturers (Acer, HP, Compaq, ...) | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! | Posted: | | | | Mine's now sorted, with a very slight variation of Mithi's solution.
Backed up database Removed all trace of DVDP From control panel, "Clock, Language and Region", change all settings for "Format", "Location" and "Locale" on Admin tab to US. Reboot PC Change all above back to UK Reload DVDP
Everything sorted now, other than a few which were probably the handful that I'd managedt to manually change. |
