| Posted: | | | | While doing a CLT search I found that both a music group and an actor shares the same name.
This situation isn't covered by the rules, but they are clearly two different "people" and since music groups/bands are formed I was wondering if the year that the group was formed could be entered as the Birth Year for the music group?
And should this be entered as a rule update request? |

| Posted: | | | | There doesn't need to be confusion, since the format for the actor would be First Name/Middle Name (if any)/Last Name, whereas the whole name for the group goes into the First Name field.
If a BY is needed for clarification, I would suggest to use that for the actor only and leave the music group blank, to avoid discussions/conflicts (which are the same in these forums) about what to use. | | | Hans |

So that's why I asked about the musical group.
Also it's just one name, so parsing doesn't work in this case. |

Meat Loaf maybe? Can't think of too many where a band member shares the name of the band, besides The J. Geils Band or something like that. Alice Cooper is still my best guess, but I feel it's wrong. |

Ahh ha, I misread again and you are certainly right. Without connection, it could be anyone or anything pretty much. Com'on Cubby, end our torment and tell us who started the thread! |

| Posted: | | | | I did.
The name is Styx.
According to the CLT there is several "Hidden Titles" as well as two titles linked to this name. |

| Posted: | | | | I looked it up and Styx seems to be the name of an adult film star, as well as the band. I still don't think we can use a BY though. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | I can honestly say I would have never, ever guessed Styx if I had a million years to try a new band each day. Makes sense it would be an adult film star. Speaking of adult film stars popping up all over, I just found out Michele Watley from "Coming to America" (one of the 'bather girls') is actually Midori. Why not use a BY for the band Styx? Just use the year they were formed, or did I miss something again and BY's can only be for people? Band changed name to Styx in 1972 according to the internet. From what I can find avout the porn guy, he's around 22. A 2010 acticle says he was 21 at the time, so his BY is probably 1989 or 1990. |
