| Posted: | | | | I really don't know how to create/update existing profiles for box sets. I have the " Rambo Complete Collectors Set" Blu Ray. Currently, there are not contents for the profile--just a name and a cover. The four movies of the box set are not in it, nor are they any actors/directors. I was wondering if there are any plans to update the profile for that set to contain the four films? The same for the newly release Harry Potter 8 Film collection box set (blu ray). Will that be updated with the 8 movies and their respective profiles? I really don't know how to add movies to a parent box set... Sorry if this is a stupid question. |

Sorry if this is a stupid question. Don't be. There are no stupid questions here. I don't have the sets your talking about, so I can't help with updates. Usually box sets take a little longer because there is so much info you need to add to each profile. Just start small. add each disc to your collection by disc id (If no individual UPC) and then move them to the parent box. |

As far as Rambo goes I already updated that to include all teh child profiles. It just moved to the approved state today so it should be released tomorrow And as far as questions go, I am new here too and so far my experience is if you show that you are want to do things correctly the people here will help you a lot!! Read the rules, and start small like ateo suggested. Also what I have found helpful is that if I get a NO vote on contribution. I PM the person to get a full explainiation if it is not clear. The space for the vote reason is small so sometimes you cannot tell what they mean. So just PM them and tell them that you are learning and you want to know how to fix the contribution and for them to explain it. And they will and you will learn. I have learned a lot about this tool and the community the last few weeks by doing that. |

| Posted: | | | | Thanks for the responses everyone! Much appreciated! I look forward to the updated Rambo profile! I'm content with 'trying' this myself but I don't want to erroneously or negatively impact someone else's profile with inaccurate info. I've thought about downloading each Rambo movie, then adding each movie to the box set profile. Really, though, I don't think that's accurate is it? The UPC's for the individual releases are not relevant to the box set are they? Yes, they are the same Blu Ray transfers as the previous releases but the technical stuff does not match up. Same with the Harry Potter movies: I could download each film and add to the box set but the technical end doesn't add up. Maybe I'm wrong... I'm not necessarily asking for someone to do this stuff for me, but if pointed in the right direction I'd be happy to contribute. LOVE. THIS. LOVE. THIS. SOFTWARE. -yes, I was yelling. The UPC's are relevant in the case where the box set contains the individually packaged BD's with their UPC's. But in the case of the Harry Potter set you have and the Rambo set you are correct they do not. That is where Disc ID based profiles come in. Do you have a BD drive on your PC? | | | Last edited: by Scooter1836 |

| Posted: | | | | Scooter, that's what I thought: the disc ID's matter in this case as they are not individual cases. Unfortunately I do not have a BD drive on my PC. Is a BD drive the best way to get the disc ID's? As far as the Harry Potter series goes, I can tell you that some of the later discs are labeled "disc one" as if they were ported over from a previously existing set. Probably from a BD, DVD, DC combo. |

Probably from a BD, DVD, DC combo. There have been so many Harry Potter sets over the years I would bet the DISC ID profiles are already out there. Unfortunately the only way that I know of to find out for sure requires a BD Drive. That is because you can add profiels "From Inserted Disc". Profiler will then dhow you which profiles match that disc. The UPC for disc ID based profile starts with "Disc ID:". And be sure to download those from eth correct locality. Now if all are the correct locality and already there by Disc ID. Then it is simple, you just take the parent profile and in the box sets section simly add th profiles as children. If it found UPC based profiles and none base don Disc Id then you would have to create those by Disc ID first. That is how I find the disc ID based profiles at least. But like I said above I do not know how to do that without a BD drive. You can search by name and look for the ones that have 'Disc ID" as the UPC and add them that way. But you would have to somehow validate your set has those exact disc ID's (from my understanding). I would suspect that with how many Harry Potter sets there have been the disc id based profiles are all there and just need to be attached to the parent. But I do not have that exact set to validate that. |

It's the only way to get disc ID's in at all from what I've found. There is no opition to cut and paste the disc ID in from any other source, only with the program and selecting "add disc" from the disc info page (or add new title by disc ID). I've tried and failed many times. Also, despite having a BD drive, it only reads about half the Sony bd's I put in it, so when my drive decides to say there is no disc, I can't get the ID's even though I have all the stuff to do so. |

| Posted: | | | | Thanks again very much for all the responses everyone! Looks like I may either have to invest in a Blu Ray drive or just wait for someone else to update the profiles.
Scooter1836: The new Rambo box set profile downloaded the other day just like you said! Thanks much! That's exactly what I was hoping for.
I did a search for the Harry Potter box set. Some profiles for the set already exist with the correct release date and cover art. There is not yet a profile for every disc in the set. I'm guessing it will download the whole profile once the whole profile is complete and uploaded to the Invelos server.
Thanks again everyone! |

| Posted: | | | | I didn't want to start a new thread for this because this is almost the same question but for the Harry Potter set I mentioned earlier.
The profile info for Deathly Hallows 2 is blank for the DH2 disc in the box set.
Just for testing, I downloaded the Deathly Hallows pt 2 (stand-alone w/ UPC) disc with to my collection. This contains the Blu Ray, the DVD, and the Digital Copy.
The profile for the stand alone disc is updated and disc one of the stand alone has the same disc ID as the one in the box set that is not updated.
Is there a way I can simply import/copy the info from the stand alone disc that is updated into the profile for the disc from the box set that is not updated?
I didn't just want to add the updated one to my set because I think it will add the UPC along with it.
Or, should I just wait for the info to update on it's own?
As always, thanks for reading. |

If I understood you correct that will be quite simple. Highlight the Profile you want to take information from, click DVD -> Copy. Now highlight the other profile and click DVD -> Paste and you get a window where you can select what information exactly is to be copied. If you contribute such information make sure to include where this information comes from, e.g. "updated information from 123456-789012 which contains the same Disc" or something like it. Well, if nobody contributes those changes you might be in for a looong wait ... cya, Mithi | | | Mithi's little XSLT tinkering - the power of XML --- DVD-Profiler Mini-Wiki |

| Posted: | | | | Thanks so much for your reply Mithi! That worked and that's exactly what I wanted to achieve! After pasting the contents into the box set, I then removed the bonus materials disc and the DVD copy of the disc as the box set does not contain those. I've also uploaded my changes for contribution but it looks like a few others have done the same.
Thanks again! |

| Posted: | | | | As far as I can see the Harry Potter box set of 8 films is still incorrect. I have no BD reader on my PC so I'm stumped as to how to get the information corrected. The box set only shows 7 of the 8 films, as far as I can see, and has a separate number for the Box Set itself. |

The UK [5-051892-066037] box has all 8 movies in it. Wha you can do, is: a) Select the box profile, then Online -> Refresh DVD from Invelos -> Check For Child Profiles b) Select Add DVD -> Add by Title and search for the movie in your locality and as Blu-ray. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online
