| Posted: | | | | I have a custom layout like probably most people and it has always been slow to refresh when moving things around, when starting up, just slow period. I have played around with different things trying to determine what it is that is causing it to be slow to the point of almost not usable. No idea, I am running a fast 64bit PC so that's not the problem. I've tried layouts made by other people, still same problem, I've run the db repair a million times, everytime I move a frame around I get "not responding" for about 2 or 3 minutes and then regain control.
It appears to me this company does not intend to support their product as I see no updates since feb of this year and it is now sept.
If someone has anything to contribute here that might help solve my plight please post.
thx. | | | Last edited: by apturbo |

| Posted: | | | | Since you haven't up-loaded your db, I don't how many profiles you have. If I you have this problem using the default layout.........
The problem might in the hard drive or graphic interfaces. The graphics might use central memory or the disc interface might be serial.
I have over 16.500 Profiles and 1.000.000 files on my PC. The DVD Profiler has gotten slower with each new release with all the crape added to it. It now takes over 90 seconds to initially load my DD Profiler and at times it does seem to take longer to access a newly selected profile..
I regularly run a Program Accelerator improves program launch speed and overall system responsiveness by re-aligning programs and their dependent files. This seems to help but not much. | | | We don't need stinkin' IMDB's errors, we make our own. Ineptocracy, You got to love it. Sorry, but you might be completely wrong here. 64bit in fact slows down most machines (more data to shove around in RAM-areas that most software products cannot use). As a guideline: A 64bit machine needs about twice as much RAM as a comparable 32bit machine and should not be used with less than 6 Gig of RAM. Since DVDProfiler is a 32bit application it can only run in the physically first 2.5 Gig of RAM, this is true for all 32 bit applications. So if you have only (or mostly) 32 bit applications running on your machine, it might run out of RAM even though in theory there's still a lot available (it's just not accessible). This problem gets worse the more programs are running in "Auto Start" or as "Service". I am running DVDProfiler with custom layout on a medium paced PC (Athlon X2 4800+ @ 2x 2.50 GHz, 16 Gig RAM, Win 7 HP 64 Bit) and have absolutely no performance problems. Please check what happens if you temporarily disable all security software (disconnect from the Internet before doing so!). If you are using a non-generic security solution make sure that Windows Defender and Windows Firewall are disabled. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! | Posted: | | | | Usually when this happens it's because of a plugin sucking your resources. Try going to tools...view plugins and unchecking anything not Invelos specific. See if that doesn't improve performance. |

| Posted: | | | | I reinstalled, chose default layout and will continue to use for a while and see what happens. I get crashes all the time as well. just sent the error report successfully from a recent crash!!!! yea.

I'm running an even slower system than you and I have no performance issues running a custom layout. Please uninstall all DVDProfiler-PlugIns and see what happens then. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

| Posted: | | | | My computer died about a week and a half ago, so I can't check settings, but I seem to recall there is a setting to show some kind of statistical numbers on the layout page. Mine used to be very slow until I unchecked that setting. | | | Marty - Registered July 10, 2004, User since 2002. |
