| Posted: | | | | Hi don't know if I'm in the right category for this and the search in forums times out on me... I need Profiler to sort titles by the actual title (with articles). How do I turn off the "sort title" function altogether?
Doing it manually plus locking the titles is a pain.

| Posted: | | | | "Sorting by Title" always uses the "Sort Title", after all that is what it's for. If you want DVDProfiler to sort e.g. "The Green Mile" under "T" and not under "G", there is no other way then to manually change the Sort Title.
"Search for Title" would search the complete title field (incl. Original Title).
What exactly is it you want to do? | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

| Posted: | | | | Sorting by Title as you described is what I needed. I wanted all the "The..." Titles etc. unter T and I was hoping I wouldn't have to change every film by hand. It's a nice option, of course, just not what I need right now. Thanks for your answer ... I guess I'll just have to grin and bear it |

| Posted: | | | | You could probably install the BulkEdit Plugin and edit all of the Sort Title fields removing the Sort Title in one shot. Nevermind...won't work. DVD Profiler just fills it in again after removing it. BulkEdit might be able to replace the Sort Title with the Title. I've only ever used BulkEdit to add data or change data...I don't know whether or not it can swap data. I'll backup my database and see if there's an option to do that or not and let you know. | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection | | | Last edited: by Bad Father |

| Posted: | | | | @8ballMax I just tried BulkEdit. Replacing sort title with title works great! Live saver! Still, with "Sort Title" being an additional service so to say, I think a check box to enable/disable the option any time would be more convenient. But I guess most people don't need it. Thanks a lot for the tip! |

| Posted: | | | | Just back to share my new favorite sentence: If you sort by title, Profiler will not sort by title but by sort title. Ain't it crazy? Thanks for your replies! |
