| Posted: | | | | how do I sync my ipad and iphone versions which are the same to my PC?
I have setup a sharing databases and I am not sure what to select:
1) open this database (opens a new blank database to sync) 2) change settings 3) convert to local database 4) delete this database |

| Posted: | | | | Since this is the first time you try to sync, I would recommend making a backup of your DVDP desktop database and an iTunes backup of your iPhone and iPad. Then go to the "Databases" tab and click on "Update Default" (or whatever the name of your database is). If you made changes to your iPhone or iPad database "Send Changes" should be automatically set to "on", otherwise it will be set to "off". Then simply press "Update". If you have trouble connecting to the desktop version, check Taro's guide. |

| Posted: | | | | here is my problem, I have synced before - my database was on my server, however, my drive failed last week. I have been able to salvage data from the drive but I am having a hard time finding the backup.dpb file so I figured I could just sync from my ipad or iphone since both are up to date anyways.
I tried using the update default method but it wipe the database off my ipad so all I have now is the iphone. |

| Posted: | | | | I never tried that. I'm sure there is a way to sync back to the PC, but I don't want to guess. Definitely make an iTunes backup of your iPhone before trying anything else. In case your iPhone database gets deleted too, you should be able to get it back by restoring the backup. |

| Posted: | | | | When you connect your iPhone again, right-click on it in iTunes and choose "restore from backup". Just remember, that this backup will restore everything on your iPhone. Therefore create a new backup just before you try syncing DVDP. If you restore from an older backup, you risk loosing other changes you made in-between.
The file is stored in "User/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup" on a Mac and (if google can be trusted) in "C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR_USER_NAME\Application Data\Apple Computer\SyncServices\Local" on a Windows PC. |
