Hello,

I have a system where friends can borrow my DVDs.
My friends have a card made by myself with a barcode on it.

I would like it if this barcode can be assigned to a user in dvd profiler.
Then I would like to be able to scan this card following the dvd's they want to borrow.

This way it's very easy to manage all my dvd's

Ltr,
Fons

I would add this to Feature Requests but in the meantime the best you can do is get yourself a simple bar code scanner like a CueCat, scan the DVD bar code of the title you wish to loan which will select the title in DVD Profiler. Select "Loan to" and select the user from the list or "Loan to Custom" and add the user if he/she doesn't already exist. You can then print the UPC bar code that is located on the DVD rear cover of the DVD and issue that to your "customer". When the "customer" returns the DVD just scan the bar code on his/her card and the title will pop up in DVD Profiler. Click on "Loan to" and select "Return From "User". The trick to this is printing the UPC bar code on your cards.

One way to print the UPC labels on the back of your DVDs is to right-click on the rear cover image in DVD Profiler and select "Edit Cover Images". Select the back cover and then select the UPC label with the selection tool and then in "Edit" on the menu select copy. You can then paste the UPC label into a Word Doc or some other program and print out your card.

That's an idea.
But it's a lot of work when they want to borrow multiple dvd's
That's why i have the cards with a "customer" id number aka barcode

The idea was to scan this barcode so it selects the matching customer.
Then simply scan each dvd so it's on their name.

And sure it can be done with a scanner like a CueCat but I thought it would be a nice feature for IOS, cause I already have DVD profiler IOS and it does scan barcodes.
