| Posted: | | | | I regularly experience the problem, that after making changes to cast data, when I close the edit mode, the data immediately revert to the original. This does not seem to happen (or not in the same way), if after editing I first move to the Crew tab and only then close the edit mode.
This particularly happens when making changes to roles or dividers (local to the profile) not when making changes to actor names.
And no, I did not hit the Undo button, although I have a suspicion that this behaviour only started showing after the Undo button was introduced.
Anybody else notice this? | | | Hans | | | Last edited: by Staid S Barr |

This has been happening to me for quite a long time. I originally thought that it was an artifact of my extremely memory-poor machine, but after that machine 'sploded (blew a cap on the MB and scared my son half to death) and I got a new, memory-rich machine it seemed better, but it still does it now. The new machine is about a year old, and I had this problem for what seems like at least a year prior to that. Perhaps it coincided with the new group divider? The odd thing is that it doesn't appear to always happen, and now that I think about it, it's happened when I simply adjusted the case of a single role. second try exactly the same it worked.
I've never noticed your correlation to divider-editing before; i'll make some experiments. Up until now I had the sense that there was some sort of trigger event after which it went into this mode of every other save "fails" ...
I've gotten into the habit of "Copy to XML" just before I save, check to see if it 'took', and if it didn't then re-edit and "Paste XML to cast". Usually. Of course, it's even more annoying when I forget to do that ... | | | -fred |

| Posted: | | | | What I do after editing cast roles (second time, I usually forget the first time) is to move to the crew section and only then close the edit window. That seems to do the trick. | | | Hans |

| Posted: | | | | I'll certainly try that ... it would save a lot of time and aggravation. Thanks! | | | -fred |

| Posted: | | | | I just noticed the same behaviour in a different place.
I unchecked the Slip Cover box for a child profile, closed the edit window and the check immediately reappaeared.
Doing this again, but moving to a different tab of the edit window before closing it, resolved the issue.
But as you point out, it doesn't always happen. But what triggers it? I had just been downloading updates, and there may be some link there. | | | Hans |
