| Posted: | | | | Since yesterday DVDP stops responding after a few seconds of work, mostly by klicking on a profile. It happens with my main database but also with a very small one I tried. I did 2 complete database repairs and a reinstallation of the program - after the reinstallation it worked for 10 minutes, but now the problem is back again. I also started without plugins, same problem. Does anybody has an idea what could be the problem? | | | |

| Posted: | | | | No, no error messages. I also opened a support ticket, sofar I completely un- and reinstalled it, but it keeps freezing even with an empty database and default layout, no plugins loaded. So Invelos told me they couldn't help me, probably a soft- or hardware fault. I think I will do a windows reinstall on Thursday. | | | |

| Posted: | | | | What did you change on your system yesterday? Suspects: 1) Windows Updates 2) Security Software 3) Internet Browser
Try to set DVDProfiler as "Trusted" in your security software (Both: Firewall and Anti-Virus). | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

| Posted: | | | | Before you reinstall Windows, you could try a system restore (or whatever it's called in English) to a point in time when DVDP still worked. |

| Posted: | | | | Well, last time it worked was on Saturday, I closed it, shut the PC down. I started the PC on Sunday, started DVDP and it didn't work anymore. That's what bugs me, there really were no changes - at least not done by me.
I will look further into it in the afternoon after work, many thanks to all.

| Posted: | | | | If you're running Windows 7 or Vista, try right-clicking on the DVDP icon and selecting "Run as Administrator".
The option is there for Win7, may have to view the properties/compatibility in Vista. |

Tried that, as soon as I click on Tools it stops working Quoting Silence_of_Lambs: Quote: Try to set DVDProfiler as "Trusted" in your security software (Both: Firewall and Anti-Virus). Checked Windows firewall, DVDP is allowed to communicate, unchecked, saved, checked again - no success

| Posted: | | | | I recall a problem with DVDP continuosly crashing because of a missing font required by DVD Profiler. Try reinstalling the Tahoma.ttf font from your Windows CD. | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

| Posted: | | | | I suppose there must be something wrong in your local environment. IIRC the profiler requires the .net framework. Maybe this component is damaged and causes the problems. Sorry, so far no other idea here! | | | Thorsten |
