Good evennig.

After a look in the forum, couldn't find any info about this subject.

The thing is after a while without working with DVD profiler, I downloaded my online collection, but like half the DVD covers didn't show up. But only this weekend I found out that those covers actually are on the online database. They just don't show up on my software.

My question is, what can I do so that I download the missing covers from my films?

Thx in advance,

Stieglitz

These are found on the top of the page of DVDP.

The first thing I would do is a database repair. I do one about once a week or so:

Tools > Options > Utilities > Repair Profile Database.

If the problem still exists after doing this I would download all the images:

Online > Refresh All Images.

Good Luck!

Hello,

Just tried out both of ur options, but the problem perssisted. Many DVDs I have, don't show up pictures. I even suposed it was due the fact there were no images online, the thing is I have films like "Donnie Darko" wich I really don't beleive not to have an online image. =\

Thx again in advance

Could you give some of the EANs that don't have a cover, please?
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

You're right: judging from you're on-line collection your copy of 'Donnie Darko' with EAN 5-606118-000854 indeed does have images. Since they're there, you should be able to download them to your local database.

Seeing as the previous "broad" solutions don't seem to work, let's try it "small" first, and focus on just this one DVD. So: select 'Donnie Darko' in your local database, then click on the "Online" menu option on the top of the screen, from there choose "Refresh DVD from Invelos", and from there choose "Refresh images only". Does anything happen when you do that?

If still no images are showing, then I can only assume that the profile is locked. Have you checked that? If the profile is locked (either fully, or just selected bits including the cover images), then you won't be able to download the images. Locked means locked, even if the field is empty. So if there are no cover images, but that section is locked anyway, then it'll stay empty: the new images won't be able to overwrite the empty-but-locked images section. Try unlocking the profile, and then try Online/Refresh DVD from Invelos/Refresh Images Only again. Any luck now?

I'm sorry for my noobness but what's the EAN? I saw it b4 on the software but I couldn't find it now! Don't remember how to get to it.

T!M, your hints actually helped me in most of my films. Though I'm still missing 19 that didn't download the covers. Tonight or 2morrow morning I'll try to check that lock thing. Bdw, how do I check it out?

Thx for the help guys.

EAN is the same as the UPC. One is the European version, the other the United States one. Well, there is more to it, but this will do
Unfortunately, I can't use DVDprofiler at the moment due to lack of a Windows computer.

Right-click on the lock icon in the General Info window of a profile, and make your selections.
You can also lock/unlock in the comparison window when downloading an individual profile.

T!M, I just check out that Lock thing, indeed a couple of them had stuff locked. Only one of them had covers locked (wich I ended up downloading succesfully the cover). Like 3 or 4 had the buying price locked wich, after unlocking, some of them let me download the photos. Nonetheless, I still have 18 movies not downloading the images. =\

I'm glad that it worked for most of your profiles. For the remaining ones: if you're sure there are no locks in place that prevent the current images (even if that means: no images) from being overwritten, then I can only imagine that the online database simply doesn't have any images for those profiles. Although fairly rare, that does actually happen. It's a user-built database, and if nobody has submitted the cover art for a certain profile yet, then it simply won't be there. I see that your online collection consists of about 350 profiles, so it's not entirely unreasonable to see that 18 of them don't have pictures submitted for them yet. We're talking about a "success-rate" of about 95% there: that's not too bad, really, certainly for a "smaller" locality like Portugal.

Yeah maybe the easiest thing to do is to scan my own and upload them. =\

Just need to find a scanner since mine doesn't work with Windows 7.

See this thread, maybe virtualization is an alternative for you.

Thx a lot Mithi. Though I'm probably too lazy to work that out. Most likelly I'll hold on and buy a new scanner at the end of the year. (Hurray for the consumption!)
