| Posted: | | | | I maintain DVD Profiler on two machines: (1) A Windows 7 desktop with version 3.7.2 and (2) a older Windows XP laptop with version 3.6.1.
1) Should I update the Windows XP machine to 3.7.2?
2) Whenever I exit DVD profiler, there is a nag screen that I haven't performed a backup. Currently I use the Windows 7 desktop as my primary copy and keep the Windows XP machine as the backup, using the online list of my DVDs to keep the two machines current. What is maintained in a separate backup that isn't maintained via the online list?
Thanks. |

| Posted: | | | | 1) yes. You should keep the versions identical, at least in the first two digits x.y.a and x.y.b 2) The online list is not a backup solution. For example, if you have individual covers, they are not stored online and would be lost if you lose your local DB. If you want to sync two local machines, I'd suggest the use of a flash drive and a file sync program like Beyond CompareOr you use the shared database feature if they are both in the same network (that's not a backup solution though) | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online
