| Posted: | | | | Hi, we have several users here who all have their very own pet peeve. In the spirit of the upcoming holidays, why don't all of you try to not bring it up again until 2011. I'm sure all of you are fully aware that you've made your point (no matter the topic) and whatever it is, it's not going to change this year anyway. So why not give it a rest, it's not like you're going to "lose the argument" just because you don't repeat your POV for the umptieth time. Nonetheless, I wish all of you a Merry Christmas. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

| Posted: | | | | I can easily understand that some users are tired of me. Just three things: - Ken could stop any lasting discussion with a few words on how he sees things. - Most times I use a "certain example" are in reaction to some users who have provocative statements as "IMDB names are not accurate", "just follow Invelos rules and everything will link perfectly". Very vocal users are against any change and will always act as if we were a sect devoted to the "perfect contributing system" we have now. Your proposal means those guys have all rights to lie blatantly to new users each time a question about contribution is raised. - If what I write is so well-known that it has become tiring, why some users still raise questions to which I answered many times ? Don't you think I am also tired to be obliged to fight like that to make things improve? It is because I think Dvdprofiler is a marvellous tool and find sad to see the poor quality of data that are in the online database. Even if I think things have little chance to improve, I'm sure that they'll go worse if we say nothing. Anyway, I'll think to your proposal "Just let it go..." | | | Images from movies | | | Last edited: by surfeur51 |

He who MUST get the last word in on a pointless, endless argument doesn't win. It makes him the bigger jerk. |

For reasons only you know, you have chosen to ignore those few words. That is, of course, your choice, but let's not pretend that Ken didn't weigh in on that issue. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. So, because Ken weighed in, it means that the subject can never be raised again. I can think of several times that Ken has weighed in on an issue, only to change his mind later on when he realized that his first decision was not the best solution. Time often has a way providing more clarity through experience. I think we all have a whole lot more clarity now regarding the "Common Name" and "Birth Year" method of linking actor and crew names. Until Ken tells us he's heard enough, nobody on this forum has the right to tell other users to keep quiet about any issue.....no matter how many times it has been discussed. | | | Hal |

Did you even read my post? surfeur stated that "Ken could stop any lasting discussion with a few words on how he sees things." All I did was point out the fact that Ken did exactly that yet discussion continues because, for reason only he knows, surfeur has decided to ignore that statement...I even stated that it was, of course, his choice to do so. Never did I say the subject could never be raised nor did I tell him that he had to keep quiet about any issue. In fact, if you look at any of the threads where he has commented about this issue, you won't see me telling him to stop. I may have in the past, but decided that it really isn't right to do so as he isn't violating any forum rules. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. Isn't that what people normally do when they quote another post? | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
