| Posted: | | | | I have a brand new installation of Windows 7 and just installed DVD Profiler on it. I keep getting prompted to open or save a file called TEMPNOTE.HTML. I've seen other posts on this forum about it, but they were all caused by a second web browser. I only have Internet Explorer on my system. Windows Firewall is disabled and no other AV or firewall software is installed.
Any ideas?
ADDITIONAL INFO:
I have user access control disabled, but also tried to run DVD Profiler as Administrator. That didn't help. | | | Last edited: by goldenegg |

| Posted: | | | | I'm not aware of a way to reinstall IE 8 on Windows 7 (MS only posts installers up to Vista). I just installed IE 9 to see if that helps, but I'm still having the same annoying popups. |

The XP and Vista installers will not run (I've tried them). The only thing that applies to Win7 in that article is resetting IE, which I've tried. Guess I'll just have to live with this for now, as it doesn't seem to be affecting functionality. Once online syncing is available in the iOS version, I'll no longer be using the Windows client anyways. | | | Last edited: by goldenegg |

| Posted: | | | | Hi,
i have had the same problem and no former posted solution worked. Kens idea to de- and reinstall the IE8 was right:
You can deinstall the IE8 via "Start"->"Control Panel"->"Programs and Features" and then "Turn windows features on or off". In the next dialogue you can uncheck the IE8 checkbox. After you confirmed the changes, a restart of your system is required. After rebooting your system you can check, if the DVDProfiler now works properly. After this you can reactivate the IE8 the same way without having trouble with the tempnote.html file again. | | | Last edited: by mkaiser |

Just for fun, I created a new Win7 virtual machine and the exact same thing happened. At least there's a workaround. |

I'm running XP, and have been using Firefox for years on this machine and DVDProfiler never gave me any trouble. Now, for no apparent reason I'm getting this notice every time I click on something. I'm not using HTML for notes, I don't have IE8 and never have, there is no Programs and Features option in Windows XP, so it can't be any of these options . He Who Is Really Getting Annoyed By These Warnings. |

| Posted: | | | | It's not a fault of DVDProfiler, but of the file-allocation in Windows. As a fix: Temporarily set IE (which version ever) as default browser. Restart your PC Set Firefox as Default browser again.
Problem should be gone now. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?
