| Posted: | | | | It's really easy to have multiple collections. But, you will only be able to access one at a time.
Go to the top of the DVDP screen and touch "File".
A box will open up - now press "Open Database".
Now touch "New Database". You can name this whatever you want "Blu-Ray" for example.
A prompt will ask you if you want to create a new database. Press "Yes" and you will now have the 2 databases available for both of your collections. |

| Posted: | | | | Or, if you don't want to keep separate collections, but just really keep the 2 medias apart, you can create a custom tab in profiler. So along with owned, ordered, wish list, you could create one called blu-rays and use the owned for dvds or vice-versa. Go to collection, other, then edit collection categories to add a new collection tab. | | | Lori |

| Posted: | | | | LoL. It's all good. I probably would have forgotten to mention the actual 2nd database, myself. So between the two of us we would've covered it either way! | | | Lori |

| Posted: | | | | I've just created a second collection with only one profile yet. Sadly it seems like it's not that easy to keep them completly separate. Full backup of #2 also includes all gallery images of #1.
It seems like it can be fixed by backing up flagged Titles only. But it's only a mattter of time untill I will forget to flag everthing and mix gallerys of #1 and #2. Is there a better way to solve that problem?
The only other way I can imagine is not to back up the gallery and use Winrar on the ScenePhotos folder. Extracting the archive to the correct path should still make the gallerys work, right? Not perfect but at least the images are stored only twice, not three times and the backup process of the collection will be much faster.
And are there other things shared between collections & backups that I might have overseen? |

| Posted: | | | | A workaround is to set up and install Profiler on two user accounts. They will then have completely separate databases. | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 |

| Posted: | | | | That'll work unless both collections are bigger than 50 profiles. | | | Deutsches DVD Profiler Forum: www.dvdprofiler-forum.de |

Nice idea but thats far more work than to create a separate backup file only for the gallery. I could run the profiler on two different Computers in my network but I guess that would lead to a license problem, too. Seems like I have to live with it. If there aren't any more problems ist not too bad. |

You'd want to find the legal stuff here on the site and double check that, but it's how it's always been as far as I can recall. EDIT: No need to look. The answer is right here. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. Create fake parent profiles to organize your collection. | | | Last edited: by Mark Harrison |
