| Posted: | | | | I have a server. I want to run profiler on it and be able to access it and work it from other desktops and my laptop. I have searched for instructions on how to set it up but have found nothing.
Can someone explain how to do this or send a link to somewhere that explains how to do it please.
Thanks. |

| Posted: | | | | Have a PC that you'll use as your server. Enable sharing via the options. Leave DVDP running on it.
On the "client" machines, create a new database under the File menu and select that you want to created a shared db. Enter the information for your server.
Forgive the crudity of these, I'm reciting from memory. |

| Posted: | | | | Hey thanks for that!
I have the server up and running. Got about 14 dvds setup. including 1 boxset. All for testing before I get stuck in.
To start with I can do the first connection to the remote database on the server. Then if I edit somthing or do a exit and reopen I get an error and cant access the database anymore.
tblCollection: Cannot perform this operation on a closed dataset.
DVDP wants to report back to Invelos but it just crashes and I restart. I cant even access the local database on the desktop either.
Any ideas what I have done wrong??
Thanks for any help... |

| Posted: | | | | If I recall correctly this happens because "Remote access" only becomes available for premium registrants. Since this restriction doesn't appear in the list, I'm not sure about this though. But I vaguely remember someone having the same problem and it disappeared after he got the premium registration. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

| Posted: | | | | Now here we have a spammer (cocolove) that is very hard to spot. The advertisement comes as "signature" but is in fact part of the message.
