| Posted: | | | | Hi, in the last days this function is not working for me anymore. DVDProfiler is "scanning for images" and then nothing happens. Any idea? |

For homing in on the problem the following information might be helpful:
1) Which OS are you using? 2) Which version of DVDProfiler are you running? (if it's 3.7 beta please report the error in the beta forum) 3) Does DVDProfiler stop responding? 4) When was the update last working? (if this was less than two weeks ago, it might be simply because there are no updates available. This period may vary depending on the size of your collection and the contribution activities in your locality) | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! | Posted: | | | | This wasn't working for me either, last night. I had added 2 or 3 DVDs by choosing the add inserted disc option. After that, I borrowed my friends Internet connection and chose the Refresh... It found two DVDs that were quite old, but not the ones I had just manually added.
After refreshing those two, I tried it again and it found one of the DVDs it had just refreshed (Rififi). It seems to get stuck on this one and keeps refreshing and keeps finding it as if it needs to be refreshed.
I repaired the database before and during these events. | | | Last edited: by tigertat |

| Posted: | | | | Could you give us the UPC / EAN and locality of the discs please. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

| Posted: | | | | (I'm on XP Pro using 3.6.1, build 1392)
Here's two: Legendary Weapons of China 4891670103476. Martial Club 4891670103728
I guess by locality you mean ...they are both Hong Kong Region 3 discs
I just added them by UPC and it works. If I choose the entry that I manually added (by inserted disc), and try the 'refresh profile and images' on each individual entry, it always fails at the downloading part.
I also added a disc by title that does not get refreshed when I choose Refresh updated profiles from Invelos. The title is The Kite Runner. I haven't added anything other than the title to this entry. | | | Last edited: by tigertat |

| Posted: | | | | These two fail because they aren't in the maindatabase yet, so there actually is nothing to download.
Please contribute them. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

| Posted: | | | | Sorry if I wasn't clear - earlier I said "I just added them by UPC and it works"". That is, if I am online and I add the DVDs, add by UPC and put these in (both Legendary Weapons and then Martial Club) the profiles and images download successfully. So they are in the main database.
Initially when I was offline, I added the DVDs by "inserted disc", DVDP sees the title from the disc. I uncheck the download profile option and added the DVD to my collection. Later, when I was online I tried 2 things: - I select either one of these DVDs and "Refresh DVD from Invelos", it errors out. Yet the Utilities > Test Connection works. I try the alternate connection anyway and it still fails. - I select Refresh Updated Profiles from Invleos and it says everything is up to date.
So if I add the DVD while I am online and use the UPC, it works. If I add the DVD when I am offline by scanning the disc and try to refresh later, it fails.
Hopefully that describes my scenario and I apologize for taking over the original post. |

If I add the DVD when I am offline by scanning the disc and try to refresh later, it fails. The problem might be found here. If you add the disc by DiscID it can happen that DVDProfiler assigns the DiscID as replacement for the EAN/UPC (this is wanted behaviour for boxset content and other DVDs that come without UPC / EAN). Check in DVDProfiler menu "DVD -> Change UPC / EAN" if the correct UPC is attached to this profile | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
