Quick question, would the upcoming Goonies: 25th Anniversary CE Blu-ray be considered a box set or set up as one? Here's how it's set up:

Inside a large box (same size as the Harry Potter Ult. Editions, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest BDs) is a separate Blu-ray case (standard HD Slim) with its own UPC that is different from the one on the back of the larger box plus some (IMO) useless trinkets like a board game, magazie reprints, etc.

How I have submitted it is the larger box as the parent profile with the separate Goonies movie as the child profile. If that's not how its done, how should it be profiled? I got a no vote stating: "I don't think a separate case qualifies... quoting the rules: 'The term "Box Set" is used to define any release that includes more than one film'"

This is tough one. I just want to say it should be set up the same way as One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and Harry Potter UE BD. Then again the case inside throws it off. My guess is that WB decided to just reuse BD's already in the cases and throw it in a UE box. So in the end I would just use the UPC on the UE box and disregard the case inside.

As the no-voter already showed, the rules indeed define a "Box Set" as any release that includes more than one film. Since that isn't the case here, it's indeed not a box set, and it's profile shouldn't be set up as one.

You would use the UPC and cover art from the "large box" for the profile, and then fill it with the appropriate data from the disc found in that box. The stand-alone disc, without the frills, will undoubtedly be available separately (if it isn't already, it probably will be), so that's bound to have or get it's own profile - with a different SRP, no doubt, without the additional "useless trinkets" listed in the other features field, and, depending on whether it was released separately at the same time or not, maybe even with a different releasedate. That's all perfectly nice, but it's of no consequence to this "Collector's Edition" profile.

Off-topic hint: when you're profíling 'The Goonies', don't forget that the common name for the "Jeff Cohen" credit is "Jeff B. Cohen". As is so often the case, the CLT numbers don't exactly make this abundantly clear (several other people named "Jeff Cohen" throwing the numbers off), so it's often overlooked, but "Jeff B. Cohen [Jeff Cohen]" really is the one and only correct entry.

Well, I've withdrawn it and will let someone else handle it (won't be long since it comes out on Tuesday). Doesn't make much sense that we don't profile the BD case inside with its own UPC so I'll keep it local since the rules are specific about a box set.

Edit: I did submit the separate case and its been approved so when Warner eventually releases it, the release date and SRP will have to be corrected.

TIM: It's not out yet and is not on the schedule. It probably won't be for several months I'd guess.

The way these types of sets have been set up...I am thinking LotRs...is similar to TV sets.  A complete profile for the outer box and a profile for the inner case with a UPC.  This allows people that want only the outer case profile, the ability to have a complete profile while, at the same time, giving those that want a box set profile what they want.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

And if you don't include the child link into your contribution of the outer profile it is within the rules.
