The preferred method is by UPC/EAN, if your release doesn't have one you can use the Disc ID. Uncheck the "Download profile from Invelos" checkbox at the left bottom in case a release is not in the database yet. If you'd like to contribute your work to the Invelos database, make sure you follow the Contribution Rules and state in your contribution notes where you got your data from. In case the movie title is already in the database, but not the release you have (you can find out by doing a Title search), you could consider "cloning" the profile that already exists. Here's a guide on how to do this. | | | Last edited: by dee1959jay |

| Posted: | | | | If the profile isn't in the database, the program still allows you to create one with the UPC/EAN and locality. It will ask you this when you click "Add" and it couldn't find it. Alternatively you can take another profile with a different UPC/EAN and/or locality and change these data (via DVD->Change UPC, DVD->Change locality). Then you can adjust the profile to what you're actually holding in your hands. If you want to share it with others, you contribute it (via Online->Contribute ...). For this, the profile must be in accordance with the Contribution Rules. And the cover must actually be from the release in your hands (a cover with a different UPC/EAN will be rejected). | Posted: | | | | Are these titles- 'future' releases ,, or just obscure little sports type titles? ( ie. extreme fighting), or are they your regular' run of the mill' hollywood type flicks from the 30's thru 90's etc... ?
Most of all new release upcomings are in the coming soon section of DVD/ add to collection/upcoming ..
If the title exists on the market already and can be verified as 'for sale' thru Amazon and the like, make sure the title card is correct,, or if you have a upc/ean to find that title.
Nine times out of ten I believe I can't find a title either only to discover that the title maybe was preceded by (i.e.) National Lampoon... or a directors first name such as a John Carpenter title..
As easy as it is to add a new title.. Profiler usually likes a upc/ean or disc ID up front, and finding these codes could be achieved manually or my search engine request. | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Now the World is weird and People take Prozac to make it Normal.

| Posted: | | | | I have an odd request... I have used DVD profiler for years, but last December my desktop died and I made the move to a Mac. DVD profiler of course doesn't have a Mac version and I really don't want to run windows in parallel just for DVD profiler. I've been able to manage my collection to a degree from DVD profiler for iOS via my iPhone...however, I've been sittin here with Nurse Jackie Season 3 on DVD for a while now with no easy way to add it to my collection since its not found in the database.
Anyway someone can add it to the database so I can just scan the UPC? FYI this title was released February 21, 2012 and the UPC is 031398145127
Thanks in advance |

| Posted: | | | | FWIW many users successfully run DVDP under a virtual PC on their Mac... I'm sure Mac users can add more detail if you need/ask! | | | It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong |

| Posted: | | | | This conversation begs the question about the utility of a web-based contribution process. Seems to me it might be cool. It could be built by a user if the the web submission were processed by DVDP running as a service somewhere. Of course, it would be best if built by Invelos - then the submission would flow directly into Invelos. Is this a crazy idea?
If a good web programmer wants to mess with this (desgn the submission screens - phpProfiler?), I would be willing to set up the service and host the web part if necessary. I already have an IP prrotocol working (see LoadDVD 2.34) that could be used to send the submissions package to DVDP running on a network server. Then a plugin would create the profile and submit to Invleos. This would be a project for fun - since it is not likely that we would be able to support the traffic or reliability needed for commercial operation. | | | Thanks for your support.
