| Posted: | | | | Some days ago I decided to reinstall DVD Profiler, since I had some weird problems. Unfortunately, this didn't change anything. After each reboot the program updates the online profile list and downloads 10 files of 1,92 MB each. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!

| Posted: | | | | Methinks that both your problems are connected in that it seems like DVD Profiler is unable to store the files on your hard disc. Maybe due to disc space issues or due to missing access rights. What OS do you use and what rights does your user have? Close DVD Profiler and open C:\Documents and Settings\<your username>\Local Settings\Application Data\DVD Profiler (The path is different with Windows Vista and 7) and delete OnlineList.dod and OnlineListSel.dod (that's the online list) and Layout.dpl (that's the layout file) and restart DVDP. Check if these files re-appear. Edith says: Wait a minute, I remember you. Back then you had the same problems... | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

| Posted: | | | | Thanks again for your valuable input. Last time the problems were database-related. I was able to fix this issue by changing the path to the "My documents" folder (Win XP).
I deleted all the files you mentioned in your post. After restarting Profiler the files re-appear. So, OS problems seem to be very unlikely. I don't use the online profile list, so there's no need to update it anyway. Unfortunately, we can't switch off the automatic update, can we?

Just sayin' Well, yes, the path to the database is the same, but not to the database content (images etc.). That seemed to be the problem. The layout problem is solved. I overwrote the Layout.dpl with my new settings. This might be the way it was meant to be anyway. But then, why saving my layout settings, loading them and locking the layout? However, I don't care. | Posted: | | | | The issues with the update of the online profile list just disappeared. Don't know why, I didn't change a thing.
Anyway, thanks for your input, guys! |
