Hello all.  I've been in love with the DVD Profiler for years but I have come to one conclusion...I must be too much of an idiot to use it as it was intended.  Basically, all I can do successfully is add my library as it grows to form a long list.  I've spent time trying plug-ins and updates only to give up when I couldnt get them to work.  I cant even get the LoadDVD plugin to work, so watching my movies from within the profiler has never been an option.  (And before anyone thinks its the pc I have, I'm on my third pc since buying the DVD Profiler.)

Im not asking for anymore help, I just dont have the time anymore, but I am asking one last question...

Is anyone working on a plugin that will combine the profiler with the windows media center?  I have discovered that if I use the 'MyMovies' cataloging program, it will run within the MCE and I can choose any movie on my hard drive just by clicking a title within the list and it plays.  Even a plugin called 'Media Browser' allows me to choose any movie on my hard drive and play it.  Thats been my goal for all the years that I've been using the profiler, I've always wanted it to form the list and run the movies from that list, but I still cant make anything work.  Again, I truly love the DVD Profiler, and even thru years of trying, it just isnt working out for me and my family's theater setup.

If anything ever comes to be with a new plugin as I've described, please let me know.  I really do want to use the DVD Profiler in my theater, but I dont think its quite right for me yet.  I am registered and will continue to follow the forum.  Thank you.

I am so sorry you could not get LoadDVD to work for you. I don't recall working with you on it, so I'll just have to take you at your word that you have actually tried it, although your post is not convincing. Since you are not asking for anymore help, I guess that is a message for me to keep my mouth shut, but if you decide to give it another shot, let me know. It's such a shame because it can be made to work quite well. It will even load Media Center if that is the program that is associated with your DVD or other files.

Oh the heck with it: here is something that is so simple, you couldn't possibly complain:

(1) Set DVD Profiler Options to use HTML in Notes
(2) Type this somewhere in Notes (substitute your own folder path):

<a href="C:\Users\MediaDogg\Desktop\Music\">Music</a>

After saving, you can now click on the hyperlink and voila you will see a list of files to click on and play in the Notes window.
Simple enough for ya?

Why stop now. Another level:
(1) Go to View/  HTML Windows / Edit
(2) Create a new Section and give it a name
(3) Paste the following between <Body> and </Body> (again, use YOUR folder path):

<a href="C:\Users\MediaDogg\Documents\DVD Profiler\Trailers">Trailers</a>

Enjoy a nice window with all your files for handy clicking! You WILL experience the joys of media inside DVD Profiler, even if we have to drag you kicking and screaming!

You can do a lot more, but you have already said you have been frustrated by all that stuff, so why not start simply?

I just tried this: I associated ".wmv" with Windows Media Center, and double-clicked on one of the files in the window created by my previous post. Guess what: MCE pops up and plays the file. What you have been asking for in all those posts, and for all thiose years, has been there all along. How about that ...
