I want to fill in gaps and eliminate duplicates, but I don't want it to re-order by title, sale date or release date first.  I want to basically keep the order I have when eliminating gaps and duplicates.  There doesn't seem to be a way to de-select that portion of the menu.  Does that section ONLY work when re-assigning ALL collection #'s or does it work with a partial assignment also.

TIA

I have never gotten it to work with a partial.

Do you mean it doesn't work at all -- or the order section does not work with the partial (which is what I want).

posting from memory so most likely wrong.

Isn't there an option to renumber above/below a certain number.  Seems like I have renumbered everything 999 and below while leaving 1000+ untouched.

It only works when you reassign the entire collection. I do partial reassignments whenever I sell or give away a movie (which lately is somewhat frequently) and it works fine every time.

I select "Partial reassignment" and then check off "Eliminate gaps" and uncheck "Eliminate duplicates" and "Assign number where blank" and "Assign where set to "None""

Perhaps there is a way with the bulk edit plugin. (Just an idea, never tried the tool)

Thank you.  I will try this a little later when I have time to make sure everything's ok.
