when does Invelos reset the "New Posts" indicator?
At a certain time? A certain time after your last forum visit?
It's a total mystery to me.

| | Posted: | | | | In my experience, a contribution does "start the countdown" as far a the new post indicator is concerned. So does simply viewing contribution notes, if you have the option set to keep logged on.
I just returned from a week away from the computer and last evening went through all of the new posts, section by section, and the new post icon did not disappear the entire time I was viewing, which is the way I think it should work. Other times, after less than an hour, the new posts have become "old" in less than an hour. Then I have to look at the date to figure out where the cutoff is. | | | | Kevin |

| | Posted: | | | | I've executed extensive tests, thereby watching my "Last Forum Visit" time. Not the log-in per se or every activity with the client or on the website starts the countdown.
You can do almost everything, like Refresh Updated Profiles, go to DVD Profiler Online and Contribute from the client. Or use the 'database' and 'my profiler' functions on the website. You can even open the 'forums' overview.
What starts the countdown, other than entering a forum of course, is 'View Contribution Notes' from the client and 'Private Messages' on the website.
This is not elegant regarding the 'New Posts' indicator, but at least the mystery is solved.
