| Posted: | | | | in my collection I have movies which have child movies, for example Alien Quadrilogy has within it alien, aliens, alien 3 etc, but my DVD profiler doesnt show the child films, is there a way of force downloading them instead of removing them from my collection and readding manually?
thanks

| Posted: | | | | I'm not sure if this is what you mean, but try selecting the parent profile (in this case Alien Quadrilogy) and pressing Ctrl+F12. This should force a search for child profiles and if any are found it should ask if you want to download them. |

| Posted: | | | | ctrl+F12 should do it... but you can always go through the menu to do it as well...
Online--> Refresh DVDs from Invelos --> Check for child Profiles
I don't know what locality you are in... but if that don't do it then there is chances either the child profiles haven't been created yet... or the boxset content hasn't been added to the parent profile yet. | | | Pete | | | Last edited: by Addicted2DVD |

| Posted: | | | | It's also accessible via the menus at the top.: go to Online -> Refresh DVD from Invelos -> Check for Child Profiles.
It's also possible that you have a rare Quadrilogy profile that doesn't have the child profiles linked to it, in which case unfortunately you'll have to do it manually. I can see 2 Quadrilogy profiles in your collection, I'll check them and get back to you.
Edit: I just checked and both have child profiles attached, so a child profile search should work. | | | Last edited: by northbloke |

| Posted: | | | | i am in the UK, i tried that manual option and there is no mention of child movies, I have online > refresh DVDs from invelos > and then there are 3 options but none are child options, if i delete and readd the movies it tells me that there are child films and do i want to add them, i say yes to that and they load, but i have to remove and read.
I am running the latest version of the software as i checked that | | | _______________ Steve |

| Posted: | | | | If you are missing menu options it's possible your layout is an old one - are you using a non-default layout? If so, try selecting one of the standard ones and see if the menu option appears. That said, Ctrl+F12 should work - I apologise if this is a daft question, but are you holding Ctrl down while pressing F12? Pressing one then the other does nothing. |

| Posted: | | | | Glad to hear it. If you're confident enough editing layouts you should be able to add that menu option to your preferred layout if you want to. |

The way to add Commands that are missing in a particular layout is simple but not obvious. I've experienced this problem and noted it in a post but have never received a reply as to how to add them. I just recently stumbled on the solution. I'll share it: In this example I'll show how to have the "Check for Child Profiles..." command appear in the Online tab. 1) Right-click on the Toolbar and then click Customize 2) Click Commands 3) In the Categories section click Online 4) In the Commands: window locate Check for Child Profiles... 5) Place the mouse cursor on the command and press and hold the left mouse button. 6) Drag the command to "Online" on the Menu toolbar and when the menu opens drag it down to where you would like the Command to appear. That's it. |
