It's amazing how often a series of new discussions can easily die or get lost just because they fell to page two.
I'm not talking about putting 100 topics per page, but why not make it 30, 35, or 40 instead of the current 20?
The main reason for this requested increase is the number of pinned pics and announcements that likely need to stay yet take up so many slots in each section. The "Contribution Discussion" forum, for instance, has 10 pinned topics/announcements. Add just one more for any other reason and you have more pinned topics than topics for actual discussion.
Website Discussion and General Discussion each have 9 pinned/announcements and Technical Support has 7 of them. Again, that's a lot of "slots" taken up for the first page which is often the only page many not-so-regular visitors often read (speaking from personal moderating experience). | | | If at first you don't succeed, skydiving isn't for you.

| Posted: | | | | I agree... would like to see it go to something like 40 or 50. But I would also like to see some of the pinned topics unpinned as well. There is several that I don't think would be needed any longer. like tracking purchases 2007-2009 and theater visits for 2009. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | This and a clean-out of unneeded pinned topics would be fine too. Here are some: Website Discussion: - Forum posting policy - User Profile changes - New Server
General Discussion: - Theater visits 2009
Technical Support: - Why the company change - What's new in 3.0
Contribution Discussion: - One of the two threads announcing rule updates
Online: - DVDs purchased 2007 - 2009 | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

| Posted: | | | | Personally i don't want any given list of topics to be longer than one screen (and i have a big monitor) and 25 is about all i can see at once. I would like to make the per page count of topics user selectable however (20, 40, all...) I would also like to customize my view to hide forums i know i'll never enter (Profiler Mobile - the whole section; the Layout forum, etc.). That way i could see the iPhone forums without scrolling (cause all that mouse scrolling is wearing me out ) | | | Bad movie? You're soaking in it! |

| Posted: | | | | A list of options being "longer than one screen" is, of course, relative to screen resolution. I use 1024x768 and have to scroll to see the last 2 topics. The few who still use 800x600 obviously have more scrolling than I do. 864 pixels high is just enough for me to see all topics, and obviously anything above that means seeing all of them easily.
I'm all for being able to make your own choice of how many topics to show per page, but that probably means more work which means it being less likely to be added anytime soon. So I trimmed down to the basics. | | | If at first you don't succeed, skydiving isn't for you.

| Posted: | | | | I for one wouldn't want that. Not only does not everyone have widescreen monitors... but I personally just think it looks bad. | | | Pete |

I've an old monitor (never changed it after my flat one stop working, so currently I use an old one I bought 7 years ago) and that will look incredibly ugly and unpractical (?) on my screen. |
