| Posted: | | | | I'd appreciate any info I can get on this subject before I totally give up. Im not a programmer, but Im wondering why the DVD Profiler cant do something that seems like it would be a no-brainer. Why cant I start or run a movies from within the catalog list? In other words, I'd love to:
1) open the DVD Profiler, 2) choose a movie I want to watch, 3) click a button from a menu, 4) and the dvd profiler calls up & starts running the windows media center, thus the movie begins to play.
So far, I cant find anything that will help make this happen, Im at a total loss. So as it is now, I have to: 1) open the DVD Profiler, 2) review my DVD Profiler catalog list, 3) find a movie to watch, 4) close the DVD Profiler, 5) open the Windows media center, 6) choose "my movies" or "media browser", 7) find the movie again from that list, 8) click the movie, 9) and the movie starts running from my server.
Granted I could strictly use the other programs to obtain my goal, but I really like the DVD Profiler better, and I've paid for it, so I'd like to use it. So why cant the DVD Profiler run my movies from my server with the click of a button??
Thanks. |

| Posted: | | | | I believe there is a plug-in that already does this. Mediadogg created it if I'm not mistaken Edit: try here | | | Last edited: by lyonsden5 |

| Posted: | | | | as lyonsden5 said.. there is a plugin where you can do this. What you are asking really isn't part of what DVD Profiler was designed to do. It was designed to catalog the physical disc (DVD. Blu-ray, HD-DVD) you buy. Just like you can't profile (other then locally only) movies and TV Shows that are not on DVD or at least announced with a UPC number assigned. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | I'm no techie in this area but why not reverse the situation.. Why can't Window Media Centre pick the movie and play it back without using Profiler.. In other words 'does Windows Media Centre not have it's own Jukebox setting' ..??
One area that Profiler does have is - most (or close to 100%) of your movies all have 'Youtube' links to its Own theatrical Trailers.. That to me is as close as you can come to playing back your library of movies without Windows Media Center.. | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. The problem with WMP (Windows Media Player) is, that it's database doesn't recognize all DVDs automatically (as it does for CDs). So you'd have to enter the basic information for every title manually, otherwise you wouldn't be able to search by title. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?
