| Posted: | | | | Moderated post = 1st warning = verbal warning and 30 day probationary period 2nd moderated post in probationary period = 24 hour ban and 60 day probationary period 3rd moderated post in probationary period = 72 hour ban and 90 probationary period 4th moderated post in probationary period = 7 day ban and 6 month probationary period 5th moderated post in probationary period = 30 day ban and 1 year probationary period and final warning 6th moderated in probationary period results in permanent ban. If you have one of your posts moderated because you quoted a post that was moderated, it would not fall under these quidelines. | Posted: | | | | I absolutely agree with this. However, I would like to see it implemented that the moderated post is not a blanket/vague mod statement so there is no confusion.
Moderator: Post Removed should be elaborated on for that particular post, so people know why it was moderated. Then, if bans/warnings happen, the reasons are clear. | | | Reviewer, HorrorTalk.com

| Posted: | | | | I voted yes, but I think it would be nice to show leniency towards posts that are moderated for being off-topic, although anyone who does it constantly should be disciplined. Maybe class them as half a post? |

Maybe class them as half a post? This system would only be used for posts that are either racist, inflammatory, harassing or down right rude. If someone goes off topic, then the moderator should instruct them to either keep the discussion on topic or not post at all. If they persist, then that would be treated as harassment. |

I presume this would include Avatars. Can we infer from this that you go beyond simply representing yourself as an airbrushed Walt Disney, but that any parody of Disney mocks you personally? Okay. Got it. Maybe I should have a more accurate representation of me as my avatar: | | | If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.

| Posted: | | | | I voted too sever. Sorry. I love the idea, but I hate to see anyone get a permanent ban. Though I would get great amusement out of seeing someone get repeated 30-day bans for the same behavior.
I also think that SUSPENDED to appear next to the user name. This will let the users know that action has been taken. And it will prevent people from piling on someone after they've already received their punishment. I suspect people have been suspended in the past, but it just appears like real life got in the way or they're off sleeping or whatever. With a short ban, that leads people to believe that they're just being quiet and Invelos is ignoring the situation. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. That only works if the moderators are on top of every situation and treating people fairly. I don't pay attention to the moderators. But I've heard horror stories of their judgments not always being fair, equal or present at all. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. But Mark, you're talking about six warnings. If someone can't control themselves, then they deserve to have metered out the stiffest penalty. If they curtail their anti-social and aggressive behavior, then nothing happens to them. |

Has there actually been a single post moderated for that reason over the past few months? I know that it has happened once or twice, in the very beginning of the moderation trial, but I don't remember seeing it ever again since. But I've heard horror stories of their judgments not always being fair, equal or present at all. Then maybe another poll should be started suggesting that moderators be elected by the forum community. I myself, would love to have Kathy or Unicus as a moderator. They have proven to be fair and honest in their assessments and postings. |

Though I would get great amusement out of seeing someone get repeated 30-day bans for the same behavior.. I disagree. For a person to be permanently banned would take some effort. If anyone reached that level then they obviously would have no self control. I also think getting more moderators would be a good idea, I'm sure a few good solid members could be rounded up to help. I also don't like them being anonymous, you should no who you are talking to if there is an issue. | | | HDTV: 52" Toshiba Regza 52XV545U AVR: Onkyo TR-707 Speakers: Paradigm Monitor 7 v6, CC-190 & Atom Monitors Subwoofer: Definitive Technology ProSub 800 BD/DVD: Oppo BDP-93 (Region Free) HD PVR: Motorola DXC3400 500GB w/ 1TB Expander BD/DVD/Game: 250GB PS3 Slim DVD/Game: 250GB XBox 360 Elite Special Edition (Black) Game: Wii Remote: Logitech Harmony One w/ PS3 Adapter WHS: Acer H341 Windows Home Server |

| Posted: | | | | I like the suggestion. The goal however is not to ban but rather to have everyone operate within accepted guidelines. With light punishment or warnings, the lack of consequence doesn't affect behavior. If someone knew that posting an insult would bump them out of the forum for a week, I bet they'd be reluctant to post it. | | | ...James
