| | Posted: | | | | I can not change my file folder location. I change the Tools>option>file folder to a D:\DVDProfile. But the daat still goes to the default location. I need to get the data off the c:\ drive. I have a SSD will very little space. How do I change the location of my data. I tried a reload but no matter what it always stays in the C:\ document directory |

| | Posted: | | | | If you try to movie your database (that's usually the thing that needs the most space), do the following:
Select File->Open Database
Select "New Database" and put it into a drive where you have enough space. Also select "Copy the Current Database".
When done, select File->Open Database and select the new database
Then you select File->Open Database again and delete the original database. | | | Karsten

Depending on your Windows version there are slight variations of the procedure, but generally it's a rightclick on the folder-icon -> properties -> change path ... | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!

After first opening program selected "File>OpenDatabase>NewDatabase"
selected 'New Database" and typed in a name "TEST"
I then try to enter a new "store in:" location using the "dropdown selector" but the program will not allow me to change it.
I could do it will the old software. |

I could do it will the old software. The more brute-force method would be the following: Close DVDP. Open the Windows Explorer and go to your <My Documents> folder. Open the "DVD Profiler\Databases" folder. There you'll find your database. Cut it out (Ctrl-X) and paste it in a location where you have enough space (e.g. a different drive). The you open DVDP. It will complain that it can't find the database and you can point it to the new location. | | | Karsten

I then upgraded the DVD profiler to 3.6.1 and it upgraded the empty database. I then restore the original DB and it stayed on the D: drive. I deleted the files in the c:\users\xxxxx\documents\DVD Profiler, but each time I open the DVD profiler it recreates the directory. I think there are two bugs in the 3.6.1 software. 1). it will not let you choose where you want to put your database and 2) once you force your data somewhere else it still trys to use the "documents" directory. I have another problem but , I will open another thread. Thanks for the support |

But I've never had a problem with selecting another database location. None of my DBs ist stored in the default location. | | | Karsten
