| | Posted: | | | | How do I backup my data to a Removeable Drive ? As of now it is showing A 3 1/2 floppy - F & H which is not a hard drive. My D & E DVD drives our not listed. I click specific location and check off D or E it does not copy database. Please explain how I can Backup the database to a DVD disk. Right now I can only backup to the default C drive.. Thank You Bud |

| | Posted: | | | | First select "Backup Database..." from the menu, then tick "Specific Location" and then hit the button "Browse..." to choose a location where to save the backup file to. That's how it works for me... DVD Profiler can't burn CDs/DVDs. You'll have to temporarily save the backup file somwhere on your hard drive and then use Windows (XP/Vista/7) or another software (e.g. CDBurnerXP) to burn it. | | |

When I restore the database I usually get errors, so I started just copying the files straight off "MY DOCUMENTS\DVD PROFILER\" folder and save anywhere I want. to restore it just copy back over the files in "MY DOCUMENTS\DVD PROFILER\". Works Great and no errors. |

Works Great and no errors. That's my way of backupping, too. I use a file comparer (Beyond Compare) that copies all the changed files onto my USB stick. And from there to my two other places where I have a copy of the database (my notebook and my work PC (<-- don't tell no one!  )) | | | Karsten

Works Great and no errors. if you are getting viruses then you should invest in some antivirus software. And as well as backing up the database the same way you do, I also have scheduled in two dvd profiler backups each week (each with a different name) so I can always go back two versions by restoring data. | | | | Paul |
