| Posted: | | | | So I wanted to add new dvd's to my profile and stated update the list which goes fine. Then you expect the pop-up to come where you can add dvd's to your collection.
Well it should happen but it doesn't. neither will the options window open. All other pop-ups just shows up like the should except those 2.
What happens is nothing. After 30 seconds or so when you click anywhere on the window you get the not responding text next to the title and you get the white alpha blend over the program. If you do nothing you can wait till Christmas because nothing will happen. ESC doesn't do a thing only the X button will give you the usual windows pop-up of continue to wait till it responds or to close the program.
So what have I done to try and solve this (along with support)
Repair the database download new database (also with CTRL) Re-install dvd profiler with preserving collection Re-install dvd profiler without preserving collection and removing all previous DVD profiler files on the system (this includes the ones in my user directory) I even went as far as making a fresh windows 7 x64 install with a fresh dvd profiler installation.
Everything except the new window 7 install has even been done multiple times.
Every time it is treated as a user error now it goes as far as a hardware issue according to Invelos which is strange since it's the only program not working on a 3 month old PC. All they say is that it's not a program error.
The stuff I use Intel i7 920 12 GB DDR3 memory Gigabyte GA-X58-UD7 160 GB Intel Postville SSD connected to the Intel ICHR10 controller Ati 5870 videocard Windows 7 x64 UK Ultimate DVD Profiler 3.6.1 build 1392 |

| Posted: | | | | Happens for me sometimes too. Hover with the mouse over the DVDPro-icon in the taskbar. In the preview window you will see the "Add DVD" window, click on it and everythings fine. Seems to be a hickup in Win7, since I noticed this behaviour for other programs too.
EDIT: Nice machine you have there. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

| Posted: | | | | Sorry to disappoint you but it will not show a second window in the preview mode or in the list. |

| Posted: | | | | You got me wrong. It's not a second window, it shows up in the preview of the only DVDProfiler-task opened. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

| Posted: | | | | I know exactly what you mean. The fact is that the pop-up is a second window however Windows groups it's windows.
If you open IE 3 times you get 3 windows in the preview. In the case of dvd profiler you should get a window of the main screen and a window of the pop-up in preview. This however is not the case. |

| Posted: | | | | Have you at least tried to click on the preview?? Ohh, and you are incorrect regarding the second preview as this screenshot shows quite nicely It seems that for DVDProfiler the Win7-preview shows the non-active sub-process of the mainthread. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! | Posted: | | | | well I ain't getting it here. After a second reinstall I got it working for a few days and now the same issues.
Add a new dvd goes into not responding mode going to the options means program will not respond double clicking on a blu-ray in the list means program not responding. It even goes as far to the point that the window will not go away even if I kill in in the task manager. The only way I can get dvdprofiler from my screen is a reboot which is to be frank beyond unacceptable. |
