| Posted: | | | | I need to shift 100 or so profiles as I discovered 2 of my manual profiles got a collection number which they shouldn't have got in the first place, so instead of editing these 100 profiles by hand I need to know if DVDP has as "Shift collection number by -2 on all profiles that has collection number from this collection number to that collection number" feature?
Looking at the reassign collection number window it apears to order by purchase date, release date or title. This isn't good for me since, for instance; I assign collection numbers according to the invoice from an online order, top to bottom (never alpha).
I actually do not dare execute this "Reassign collection numbers" feature in fear of totally messing up my collecting order. |

However, if your numbering is not in any way related to any other data in the profile, then I can't think of any method that will work, except doing this manually. | | | Hans |

Alternatively, to close an existing gap, use the reassign collection numbers feature, selecting a partial reassignment, with only Eliminate Gaps selected. | | | Invelos Software, Inc. Representative | | | Last edited: by Ken Cole |

WOW, that 'Insert Collection Number' feature worked... wait... hmm I need to delete 2 in the middle... tricky... so if I select a profile with number 239 the next profile that had 240 will get 241, and so on, right!? if I first reassign 239 to 237, will 240 gett 238? Also, does it ONLY do this to profiles with numbers or does it also find and assign to profiles that doesn't have a collection number and None isn't checked? Thanks! |

| Posted: | | | | Let's say we start with a collection as follows: DVD A: 1 DVD B: 2 DVD C: 3 DVD D: 100 DVD E: None
If I right-click on DVD B and select 'Insert collection number', the result is: DVD A: 1 DVD B: 3 DVD C: 4 DVD D: 101 DVD E: None
Everything with a number is pushed up by one, starting with the selected entry. | | | Invelos Software, Inc. Representative |

| Posted: | | | | Thanks for the tutorial! Unfortunately, it looks like I need the opposite. I need to remove 2, from the list. Before: DVD A: 1 DVD B: 2 DVD C: 3 DVD D: 4 DVD E: 5 After: DVD A: 1 DVD B: None DVD C: None DVD D: 2 DVD E: 3 A sister function "Remove collection number" wouldn't go a miss, me thinks |
