| Posted: | | | | Hello,
Today I added several dvd's in my collection and wanted to make a backup. It was quite a while ago. But it didn't work. I tried several times and every time at the same point (when it's almost finished), backing up the covers, the program blocks and I can't do anything more. Can anybody help me? Thanks in advance.
Greetings, FILIP |

| Posted: | | | | are you backing up to a different directory of folder on a separate drive?? | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Now the World is weird and People take Prozac to make it Normal.

| Posted: | | | | Hi guys, thanks for your reactions. First of all, I get no message at all, the program just freezes, each time at the same point. I did a database repair, with the same result. Memory is no problem at all. I save my backup on an external drive of 2Tb and for years I use always the same filename in the same folder. Never had a problem until now.
It seems that what Nick says (corrupted image), that could be the problem. How can I solve this? Refreshing the images, how does that work. My collection is rather very big, and a lot of images were made by myself. I don't wanna loose them. |

To rule out which file is corrupted you could use the half-method. Do a partial backup of the first half of your collection. If this passes without failure continue with the second half. The half that has the error now gets the procedure from the beginning. Always continuing with the failing "half". Depending on the size of your collection this may take a while (13 steps with a collection size of 4096) Oh and BTW as a backup-backup you could always use the online collection, which would at least save your profiles and your personal settings of them (sadly not the images!) | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! | Posted: | | | | It's a very strange situation. I've now made the backup on the internal C-drive, and it's ok, but if I keep trying on the external, it keeps freezing always at the same place .... |

| Posted: | | | | Might be OK, but doesn't have to. To be sure copy your database folder completely to a different directory (Copy NOT Move) After this try to restore your backup file, if everything works fine you might want to delete the just copied folder. If it doesn't, restore your database by copying the folder back to it's original place and come up again. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
